I need to source a rubber gearstick gaiter for a Tamora (the one under the gearbox tunnel cover. Mine has torn badly and is letting in fumes and hot air. I beleive it's a ford part from A sierra, but they are not generally available. If anyone has one for sale or can suggest an alternative solution I would love to hear from you.

Cheers

This is the kiddie. The other link is for the cover that sits lower down covering where the shaft enters the gearbox. Its french not Ford and it can be fitted either way round but only 1 way suits the Tamora.

Buy it here: http://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/tvr-car-parts-subs...

part no. E0096

Yes - thats the part, but it's unavailable from all the usual sources. So....does anyone have one they dont need, or has anyone found a suitable alternative?

Cheers

Sadly, not much help I don't think but here goes:

E0096TV - This would appear to be the TVR part number
WHS 11/10018/1x - No idea what this is
Bar codes - tried reading it but get nothing from it.

The French text roughly translates back to: Black Rubber gearbox gaiter auto application. Temperature resistant, oil resistant. It also states the word 'Manchet' but this is not French its the Duch word for cuff.

had a look at the boot itself. VALMEX is the only text I can make out stamped into the gaiter - Google this and it comes back as a trade name to a multinational company (there is a UK address & contact details) I had a look but nothing that suggests they make automotive bits

I sourced mine via Castle TVR 01279 647776 might be worth a call to see if they still have them.
