price difference between Tam & T350
Discussion
Well, if you look at production numbers, or at least registered numbers, the DVLA has a peak of 262 Tams and 366 T350's (T and C), so the Tam is 'rarer'. They were made side by side at the same time on the same production lines.
The cars have the same mechanical everything, and the bodyshells are identical between the axles, and interior is almost identical (difference is the roof/boot) so bodywork differences are roof and front/headlights and back/taillights.
So as the value of any car is basically whatever people are willing to pay for it, and given that the only real differences are:
Styling
Soft Top or Coupe
With most other cars there seems to be no difference in values soft top Vs coupe, or if anything convertibles are worth more, so you really can only suspect that the styling of the front and back (often described as challenging) is the issue.
Some people prefer the look of the Tamora, but it's clear that they are the minority.
If only the Tam looked like the T350 instead.....

The T350 for many years was the only Coupe in the range without any 'internal' competition and not every one wanted a drop top whereas the Tam has had to compete with the Tuscan and for its first year or two, Griff's and Chims also.
The Tam does not photograph as well as some cars, perhaps it needs to be seen in the 'flesh' to get a true perspective. After time of ownership the shape does grow on you to the point where I wouldn't swap mine for a similar spec Tuscan or T350( I drive a tin top all week). Certain colours seem to suit the car better than others.
Most of all it needs the owners and people who appreciate it's looks and more importantly it's abilities to post positively and those who post negatively to stop and take a second look or find out more.
The Tam just needs some good pr.

You would think that because there is less of them, the prices would be a bit higher now!
Have to say they look much better in the flesh than in pictures. The moon taker black one in the classifieds looks especially good mind!
Totally agree about that moonraker black Tam , can't stop looking at it , can't believe its not sold !Have to say they look much better in the flesh than in pictures. The moon taker black one in the classifieds looks especially good mind!
As a Tam owner I will give it some good PR! In the flesh it looks great, it doesn't gather the crowds as much as some other TVR’s and generally gets more now that's pretty than wows, this actually makes it, for me, a more usable car. They drive exceptionally well and are meant to be the best behaved of all the models and are an even rarer sight than any of the other T cars. There were more Sags at Brooklands after TiTT on Sunday than there were Tams! I absolutely love my Tam, its performance; its looks and its usability make it, for me, the best combination that TVR ever made. They are a comparative bargain at the moment if you believe the prices that Sags and 350s are currently selling at Tams should be 25% more expensive than they are currently at only a grand or two less than 350 of similar ilk. IMHO
I think the tam was out a little before the other t cars, these early ones got quite cheap when the t350's were only just released so holding high at the time, dont see why they should be lower than 15k as for the money I think they are outstanding when you consider you cant get much else for these prices
Its about time the prices of Tams started to increase and those selling should have the nonse to jack them up a bit just like T350 sellers have done. Simple economics of supply and demand should see to that. But it only takes one desperate seller to undermine the marketplace rather than sell on condition and believe the value in their car....
Regardless of how the market unfolds, I wouldn't sell mine for anything less than T350 money (and I'm not selling by the way). For me, its worth every penny and while I love the bonkers mad axe man styling of the Sag too, I really enjoy getting the roof down and letting more of that S6 noise in. Suffice to say, after three years of ownership, there's not a car out there I would swap the Tam for (if I dropped the Euro mills, the Tam would still stay and be joined by lots of other exotica).
The Tam is a car that under-promises and over-delivers. Crank 'em up, I say.

Also, the Tamora was the only TVR to make it to the podium of an Evo Car Of The Year edition - fairly impressive given the opposition.
EVO 2001 car of the year list:-
1 Pagani Zonda C12 S
2 BMW M3 (E46)
3 Lamborghini Murcielago
4 TVR Tamora
5 Porsche 911 Carrera(996)

As stated earlier the Tamora isn't very photogenic

I think it looks lovely but when was the last time Tam pics appeared in Sprint. How many Tam pics in the photo section of this site? If our cars are to get am image boost we need more like that for all to see.

The Tamora was marketed at the Chim owners, they weren't impressed at the time and weren't tempted to move "up"
Really? My recollection was it was "the new Griff" - seem to recall photos head on with a Griff and a Tam in the same colour.
Big fan of the Tamora myself... just couldn't afford one when I bought the Chimaera.
