My Sag has the standard old Alpine CDA-9847R and I want to change it for something more up to date, it needs to be able to take an IPod but if possible retain the cd changer that's in the boot, it doesn't have to cost the earth but want something reasonable, not worried about sat nav or anything else, any advice?

Cheers

Just following up here. I'd like to upgrade my radio to a digital one that has an MP3 input.
There is plenty of choice out there, but not too many installers with TVR experience. (In my case a T350c.)
Has anyone installed a digital head unit into a T350c/Sagaris?

Hi,

Upgraded mine to a Pioneer in my T350. You need know TVR experience (its the same looms etc, as any other car), just pop the old one out with the keys, shove the new one in, job done smile If you have any issues, then just take it to an independent and they can do it for you.

In nearly 10 years with the Tam, the radio/CD player has been on only a handful of times. I prefer the music of the Sp6.......... wink

Check if it is backwards compatible with your CD player though...

Ahhh it might be stiff to get out and in, don't damage leather around the metal sleeve. The new sleeve might be tight. I shoved my hand from underneath where the little alcove is for the cigarette lighter to ensure the cables at back didn't restrict the insertion. Keys are important though so that's where the independent comes in if you have issues smile

I ended up getting a new alpine with DAB radio, Bluetooth, IPod connection and charger and cd player.

£230 from onlineaudio.co.uk down from £300.

That's odd. My Sag has a Pioneer unit, which I thought was the standard?

(Sorry for the thread resurrection - I was just researching fitting an AUX lead to the Pioneer that is in my Sag)

Just my experience but I bought a mechless head unit. Which is basically a head unit with no mechanics - just a media receiver. It has radio, bluetooth, 3.5 jack aux and USB and the best bet you can change the colour of the buttons/illumination and there is a colour that exactly matches the colours on my Tamora so it looks better than the original unit.
