Original Stereo/speaker system
Discussion
Like everything else in the TVR world, the stereo and speakers (unless customer specified) varied by what they had sitting around at the time!
For what it's worth, our T350 was fitted with Pioneer stereo (forget the actual model number), NXT front speakers and Clarion rears. The rears weren't 'standard fit' but an optional extra.
Cheers,
Al

Opposite here, my T350 had a Pioneer stereo with Pioneer speakers front and rear (6" IIRC) but the rear speakers are standard with the fronts being the options. For what it's worth, our T350 was fitted with Pioneer stereo (forget the actual model number), NXT front speakers and Clarion rears. My 06 car had an Alpine CDA-9847 and alpine type s speakers all round, the radio signal was crap and the head unit an 8 year old model.
So today I just fitted an Alpine CDE 136BT. Its fantastic, comes with built in DAB radio, CD player of course, a built in Parrot hands free phone kit and picks your phonebook onto the screen, Bluetooth to pick up my iTunes in my phone and has a USB connection for charging the phone/play media from a hard drive. I'm so out of touch with technology that I find this thing fascinating, to top it all off the quality of the music is MILES ahead of the old unit. £236 from online audio uk, or £300 from Alpine. Highly recommend it!!

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but just in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread via google in the future (like I did) then my 2005 Sagaris has exactly this too. The Pioneer unit is the DEH-P5600MP (50Wx4) in mine. Being a P-series it will accept the standard P-series accessory cable that gives you an AUX input for an MP3 player or iPod, although I have read that it's a palaver to access it via the menu. I'll update this post when my cable arrives and I know more.

I have that setup too, and an AUX cable already fitted... but never got it to work, so will be glad of your post !!
Did you (or a previous owner) fit the cable? Or is it standard fit (as in, do I have one but don't know about it and have just wasted money buying one)?RedSpike66 said:

I use this. I have a cable with the IBUS on one end plugged into the input on the rear and a 3.5mm jack on the other end I plug into my MP3 player. You will know if the AUX is on or not by pressing source to see if its dispayed. If not to turn on the AUX input press the function button until it displays AUX then push up or down so it says ON.
Your MP3 will now work. You can also change the text from AUX to something else. I have set mine to say MP3 PLAYER which just fits the screen.
Setting the title, once aux is displayed press and hold the function button until TITLE IN is displayed. Then use the up down to choose the letters and right left to move. once done press band to exit.
Hope this makes sense but if you want the manual emailing over drop me a PM.
Cheers. Lee.

I guess you'll have to drill a small hole at the back under the stereo so you can run the AUX cable down into the pocket below
I was kind of hoping that, given how many gaps and lack of trim there is in the Sag, I could find some kind of path that obviates the need to drill a hole. I will investigate further on the weekend.

Given how well sealed that whole area is from the blower pipes there'll likely be space to fit your entire hand down....LeeT350c said:
Yep, fed my cable between the bottom of the dash and top of the tunnel under.
Fed it out the side towards the passenger seat then slid the cable accross so it ends up under the stereo and I can keep the MP3 player in the recess infront of the ash tray on top of the tunnel.
That's good to know; that was exactly my plan in the first place. Fed it out the side towards the passenger seat then slid the cable accross so it ends up under the stereo and I can keep the MP3 player in the recess infront of the ash tray on top of the tunnel.

Ok, so the removal keys arrived today (£1.18 on eBay, including P&P. I have no idea how they make a profit at that price).
It was a very simple job to gently prise off the fascia, slip the keys into the slots until they went 'click', then ease the head unit out. I found that putting the car in reverse and releasing the handbrake was necessary to get clearance.
Once out, the cable clicked in easily, and then I fed the lead down the cage and then put my hand into the cubby hole and felt around, and sure enough there was a gap and I was able to identify the 3.5mm plug by touch, snag it with my fingers, and then gently ease it into the cubby area.
After that it was just a case of feeding all the gubbins hung out of the back of the head unit back into the hole and gently pushing it back in. It required pretty firm pressure for it to fully seat and go 'click'. Then I replaced the fascia and face.
Getting the AUX enabled was extremely simple. As LeeT350c says, it is simply a case of switching the unit off with the button on the bottom left corner, then pressing and holding the function button on the top right corner. Cycle through to find "AUX: OFF" and change it to "AUX: ON". Then swicth the unit on and the input select button that previously cycled between CD and Radio now cycles through CD, AUX and Radio.
Total time to do the job - about 10 mins. Very simple indeed.
