Tamora handling
Discussion
Just got my 52 Tamora, firstly a great car at a very reasonable price.
Getting to know the car and on country roads which are greasy now and the lovely back end is not as firmly planted as I expected, it is easy to control, and overcontrol for this average driver!
The suspension looks standard, tyres are 225/35ZR18 T1 Sport Proxes front, brand new. Rears are 235/40ZR18 T1R Proxes with 6mm but 5 years old. Pressures 24 all round.
The rears are too old and are the prooblem I guess. Any of you kmowledgeable guys like to suggest improvements I should make? Cheers.

Tyres are probably past thier best and not helping but this is a natural tendancy for a TVR T car. Suggest Goodyear F1 Asyms on the rear as my personal tyre preference . or consider a winter tyre now the temps are dropping, though it wont cure it just ease the symptoms and may make them occur more often on dry roads . Staying off the loud pedal may also help but even in a straight line in the current conditions could find the tail wagging if trying to press on .
Kumho 235s on mine. Put on by previous owner or dealer. Handles extremely well on these.

I'd probably wait for the spring\summer to test the handling too much. Slippery city out there at the moment.

Welcome to the fold.
Good tyres are obviously very important and I recently went for the F1 asymmetric as previously mentioned and I like them very much they grip in a very predictable way and suffer less in the wet than the Toyos.
It's also worth having a full geo setup as T cars are really fussy and even a slightly bad setup can feel awful.
I had a leaking shock so upgraded to Nitrons and ebach springs and I have to say its the best upgrade for your buck that I have had. Very direct handling without being harsh over our increasingly pot holed roads.
Cheers
