Dont suppose anyone knows where the alloy door tops were made?

My drivers side one has some scratches on it and I thought it might just laquer over, but it looks like its has scratched past the top natural colour of the alloy.

Why not just get it repolished at a metal finishers? Start with the classic/vintage car people they'll have contacts or just google it...

The door tops are silver metallic painted extruded aluminium profiles, so no problem with repainting them. The only problem I see is in removing the rubber parts, which aren't available new at the moment.
But as written in another thread, there will be a remanufacture of the rubbers in the near future....

Having taken some scotchbrite to my (which I have removed without damaging the rubber ends) I can tell that it is NOT painted.....

Then there must be a difference between a Tamora and a Sagaris/T350. The door tops in my Sag are painted and I have a spare one here from a '04 T350 which is painted too:

perhaps tvr painted them after it became evident they scratched, is it possibly just a very thin anodising, which can be redone?

Hello John, sorry, the one I have is for the passenger side....and with this as a sample I will try to find from where it is, it's an extruded profile, maybe a 'standard' part.

Hi all

I had a similar issue with mine but I have since had them repainted to match the car. The guys at Surface and Design did this with no problems at all.biggrin

Maybe I can just take the other one off and paint them both like the later cars !!!

ant, that just looks like brushed ali finish and the top anodising is scratched through, so polishing will do nothing. paint, or reanodise

Is it worth taking them both off Ant and getting them sprayed.
