Brake fuse help!
Discussion
Hi All,
I was out in London blasting around with Lee and others on Saturday night. The rear lights stopped working which Lee thankfully learned just about in time!
I replaced the fuses but as soon as I put a new on in, it blew immediately.
Any ideas???
Thanking you all in advance.

Paul, is this just brake lights and reverse light? If so, the above answer is correct. If you can't be bothered changing out the reverse light switch (to the right of the gear selector), just unplug it at the plastic connector. You won't have a reverse light, but you will have brake lights and won't be blowing fuses. Fiddly bloody job. Trans tunnel cover can be a bear to get off!
Thanks all.
I will give the below a go first - it happened all the time, if I put the car in reverse or not?
I can not see the Sag seeing much action now for the rest of the year though I would like to have it ready to go if a chance comes up for a blast.

Hi All,
Just been in the garage to have a look at this issue - only took me two months to get around to it.
Is there another way to isolate the reverse switch? I have taken my center console cover off etc and then remembered I have a different gear box to you guys, I am guessing it is the same reverse switch though.
Any ideas?
Thanking you in advance

Hi Paul,
Had this switch off, on, off, box out, arrggghh so many times as I modified the bracket, it was causing a fith gear issue. The wires, from my shabby memory, come from above the tunnel, i.e. inside the car, and drop through the gear lever hole. You should see a bit of black copex/ribbed sleeve about 12mm diameter with two wires in it.
I have had a brake light issue as well and this was caused by a buld with a dodgy locating pip on it, it managed to rotate in the holder. Best of luck with this as you either get a hand full of fibre glass as you fiddle with the bulb holders (watch out for the O rings, they fall out and head off into the wheel arches for ever) or your fingers stuck between box and chassis tubes.
cheers,
J

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply, my reverse light is not working either so I am guessing it must be the reverse switch from what others have said?
