Experience of selling your TVR
Discussion
I ask this as my car is for sale at the moment and I seem to getting a lot of stick for not wanting to rush into a sale and actually wanting to check the car over and service it as it's been off the road. I imagined that all TVR buyers would be like me and understand how special (good and bad thing) these cars are and encourage a careful seller.
Maybe I'm selling the car at the wrong time and it was a bad idea to advertise it 'off the road' rather than wait till I've serviced it and put it on the road in the spring.
What do you think?

anyone looking to buy a tvr is ging to be pretty excited at the prospect of actually owning one, so to find it is not ready to sell, on the road, ready to go is bound to be a big dissapointment, I`d say advertise it when its ready to be sold, if you are trying to arrange a sale in advance I think you will be dissapointed, it could put possible purchasers off, and you may have to eventually drop your price to get rid of it.
I see that view but the advert is clear that the car is off the road (it's not put people off calling and mailing). I have someone interested in buying the car who doesn't want me to service it for a cheaper price but also doesn't want to wait a few days for me to be around and check that I'm happy to sell it, which seems odd the more I think about it.
I would just imagine that anyone on here who knows these cars would prefer a dedicated seller than someone who's happy to just start a car after a year off the road and let them drive off.

Yup. Will update on here after the weekend as there are always threads kicking about regarding 'how long do you keep your car off the road for and is there anything to worry about'.
Hi Mark - I tend to agree - pull the ad till you have the car ready for sale or just driftttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttCheers
