Went down to garage today to see if the Tamora would start as its be left for 6 weeks or so. Good news is that it started without a problem.

The problems started when I took it down the road. Got to the first junction (only a few hundred yards and barely stopped in time, I noticed that the pedal was a bit soft, but put it down to corroded discs all round. Went down the dual carriage way to warm the car up at a steady 40mph. Tried brakes a few times gently which seemed to get worse with a softer pedal. Tried a harder brake application, but still didn't get a lot of resistance. Fortunately the road was quiet, so I tried until I got a decent rate of deceleration. The only braking force I got was from the left rear brake. The left rear eventually locked up briefly, but I couldn't feel and braking force from any of the other corners.

Where should I look first?

I'll look at hoses for cracks / leaks etc
Reservoir level

Maybe seized pistons from lack of use but maybe just sticky pads, take the wheel off, remove the calipers and pads and give calipers a good spray with brake cleaner and use a screwdriver to scrap off any hard baked on brake dust clumps around where the pads move.

Also change brake fluid and check for leaks.

Cheers for the input. Hopefully I'll get round to it soon, but we are moving house in a few weeks, so it will probably during winter hibernation frown
