De-misting Tamora
Discussion
Just a quick couple of questions please
1) Finding it really slow to de-mist on these colder mornings. The front vents don't seem to adjust round enough to concentrate on the screen
2) Also find the rear screen doesn't seem to want to clear at all and stays misted up throughout the trip
Any tricks of the trade please - I like to watch traffic falling back behind me.

I did that but just wondered if there is some demist facility somewhere, other than closing the other vents to concentrate the air towards the screen area.
Although those vents currently seem inclined towards the cabin and don't easily turn to the screeen - and I don't want to break them.
Are they supposed to swivel 360 degrees?

Found out today why the rear screen is so reluctant to demist - the carpet behind my seat is soaking and it isn't piss.
The rear parcel area is dry though, so I just wonder if the roof wasn't fully shut correctly when I collected her or if I've been too liberal with water when washing it.
Rode back from the NEC with the roof down in an attempt to dry it and it was bloody freezing when I got home - but maybe a bit drier.
Are they prone to water ingress?
Oh and one other question.
I thought that the upper heater dial /switch was a heater and fan and that the lower dial was air-con.
When I adjust the upper dial and press the switch nothing seems to happen but the heat does increase if I press the lower dial / switch.
Have I got this wrong?

Lower switch press is on / off, and rotate is fan speed.
Upper switch rotate is temperature and press is air con on / off if fitted.
I think I have that the right way round without checking.
You will notice than when you change the temperature setting the fan speed drops to one light for a few seconds before going back to however many lights were lit before the temperature was changed.

Spot on, this is exactly the case in my T350C, actually the upper switch LED turns to one blue light when it's on its coldest setting and I get another blue LED activate when I press it in for air conditioning. It's these little intricate details which make me love my TVR even more.Upper switch rotate is temperature and press is air con on / off if fitted.

Regarding drying out your damp carpets, if you have it garaged why not hire a dehumidifier for a week and leave it going with the windows and roof open? You'll be surprised how much water these things suck up... We had one in our bedroom because the Auckland winters get very cold and damp - not nice when the houses are made out of weatherboard wood and have no central heating/insulation and single pain windows.
OP, have you also checked the operation of the heater / blower for demisting the front screen?
The dash vents should only blow hot air, so when the top knob is turned all the way to cool, little or no air should come out of them.
If this isn't the case, the heater flap needs adjusting. This can be done in the POD menu - look for 'flap zero' or similar and experiment with the setting until you get the desired result.
Of course, the fact that the car is wet won't be helping, but in general I find that the front screen demister is very efficient, but only when set up properly.
Cheers,
Mark

They can be.Are they prone to water ingress?
I had a similar issue with wet carpets. Discovered there was a fair sized gap in the driver side door seal. In my case it was at the very bottom front corner. A wad of blu-tac bunged it up nicely. It could be you have a similar issue nearer to the rear of the door?
Neil.
These are quite good. Just pop them on a radiator to dry them out when they are saturated.
