Appeared on the dash when I started the Tam this morning - stopped the car, waited a while and re-started, it didn't reappear.

I've checked the previous listed warning/fault codes and none match the warning that i got which is a bit odd...and does such a warning purely refer to the state of the sensor or a sign of worse to come engine wise?
Thanks
Bob

Takes time for oil to reach the sender. Start it on the screen where you can see the oil pressure. So long as you have good pressure in a couple of seconds it will be fine.

Thanks Andy, the pressure at start up was 59-61 as it normally is, the only other thing to say is the car is fitted with a pre-oiler, althought i'm not sure how much relevance this has, i'll just monitor things over the next couple of weeks.

On mine you would get the warning with the 'low' pressure displayed next to it, the value would be rising as the warning extinguished

I have always had the low pressure warning flash up as I turn the key, it has always gone off by the time that the engine is started and I have always thought that was fine as surely there should be no pressure until the engine is running and pressure when it is. Someone tell me if I am wrong and should be worried.

Low Oil Pressure warning during the start is normal, as you've written, the pressure has to build up.

But the warning 'Oil Pressure Sensor' indicates a problem with the sensor itself, maybe a loose or corroded connection, so the expected resistance during the self test couldn't be found.

as we are talking oil pressure, what is normal?

on start up mine seems to be around 16-20 raises to about 55-60 but doesnt rise much more when giving it a bit of stick, back to idle and its around the 20's again

Same behaviour on mine (i have the preoiler, too).
Raceproved say that with preoiler a slight difference of about -5 psi is normal.
