Evening,

So, this evening I go to put the Tamora away and the door wouldn't open, used the alternative entry method. Neither the interior or exterior buttons seem to be firing the solenoid. Passenger one works fine so the two initial questions I have are;
Are they fused separately? Is the ECU behind the panel in the footwell?

Anybody else had this problem and what seems to be the most common cause? Hoping it's just a moody connection.

Thanks,
Mick

Have you tried swapping the solendoids over? It's a reasonably common failure.

Usual reason is either solenoid needs replacing or door needs repositioning due to fibreglass flexing.

I usually find I need to reposition the door once every 12-18 months. If your solenoid is not sounding though, probably needs replacing.

Thanks

Not as yet, only happened last thing yesterday, so parked the car and went in for a beer smile

Are the solenoids located behind the door pillars? Assuming that would be the logical place.

I'm having a similar problem to the above in a T350.
Went out to drive the car this morning. Plipped the immobiliser off, lights flashed as usual. Pushed the mirror buttons to open the door. Door wouldn't open. Neither driver or passenger door.
Used the alternative entry method. Interior push buttons on the console didn't work.
Put the key in the ignition, turned it to the start position, buttons worked on the console and outside.
Drove off, arrived at destination. Closed door without activating alarm/immobiliser. Couldn't open door again.
Solenoids click when door isn't closed. Once door is closed no action unless I have keys in ignition and in start position.
Am thinking immobiliser. Any advice would be welcome.

Further to the above. Just gone back to the car. Everything seemed to be working. Can activate alrm on and off with plipper. Doors opened and close as they should..............
Now the alarms going off intermittently and the doors won't open.

Needs a reset IIRC. Press and hold the Open button (whilst alarm is going off) and then keep pressing the wing mirror button until the alarm stops. Hey presto, alarm should stop and doors back to normal.

HTH.

It's been too long since I've done it, so my memory may be rusty.
