Just changed the alternator on the Tamora, had my current one reconditioned and a brand new belt, but now when I start the car up for just the first 10 seconds there is an annoying squeal, this is only on startup and not when pulling away. How do I stop this, do I need to get the belt tighter? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Is there an oil leak anywhere this can cause the belt to slip?

I have a squeak on mine also, just on startup and goes very quickly. I keep meaning to get some belt lube from halfords.

Does the squeak follow the revs, then goes completely after a couple of minutes?

The squeak is for the first 10 seconds on startup, didnt do this before I changed the belt, car doesnt seem to leak oil from anywhere. It is only upon startup, before I put the new belt on Gunk engine degreaser was used to clean everything, maybe it could be residue of this that hasnt burnt off as the car has barely been used.
