How many Tams produced and what colours?

I often see people saying mine is one of so many Sag/T350/Tams in a certain colour. How do people know this? Is there a list somewhere? Also is there any way of finding out how many of each model were made? I know you can go on howmanyleft.co.uk to see how many registered/SORNd in the UK but this will exclude written off and exported cars.

Just curious to see how many were made in total and if my colour is common or rare. It's a Halcyon Atlantis Blue Tam by the way.

How Many Left is a start, but the majority have researched their car, through events, through talking to other owners to get a better picture, tracing what has happened to them, who owned them etc. When it was last built, registered will give you an idea as well. For example most are aware what the last cars are because they are more publicised.

There is enough information to highlight these things out there, you just need to look a little. For the rarer cars e.g. Sag, Tamora, T350C/T, Typhon etc, it's going to be much easier, particularly as there is less to research but also people remember them more so i guess. Check out some of the PH posts as well, as there are lots of posts about some of the cars, lists of them etc.

The TVR Car Club might also be able to help and some of the more seasoned chaps on here, may know a little more than me, as i'm only a newbie :P

I don't know about colours but its always surprised me that an accurate record of production numbers models and colours has not appeared from TVR records .

Interesting figures, pretty much pin points the start of problems and a drop in sales at year 2000, if only a newer v8 was still an option I'd imagine the sales figures would still be up around the 1000 units a year.

Also grab a mk2 Tuscan as they appear to be the most rare model out there, mk2 sags are too similar to the originals to really call a mk2, I'd say facelift.

Hi David , I didn't know there was a doubt over this list so thanks for pointing it out . The other list i have seen on how many left lists less than 300 Tams ( i could have this wrong too ) that quite a big difference from the above list .
Is there no way anybody can find a definitive number from company records .

company records?

TVR didn't keep very good records for a number of reasons, some simply to do with poor systems, others were 'finance' related.

For example there are no definitive numbers of Griffiths, Chimaeras and Cerberas as the totals for chassis production for all three models was combined.

It also didn't help that a number of the records that did exist ended up in a skip when TVR closed and some others that were offered to the TVRCC never materialised despite the club persuing the offer.
