with having so much time off work, who is sneaking out to the garage to do a few jobs on their cars?

if so then what are you up to?

I have a few bits to do, remove fuel tank, looking into modifying with fitting baffle plates, the front light covers really need to be resealed again, one of those jobs I hate doing, would really like to find some black countersunk screws so they are descreetly fixed into place.

would like to give it a good detailing as well.

Already did it a couple of weeks ago - mine was just cosmetic rather than mechanical though but couldn't get a few tar marks out of the paintshield on the sill which irked me. Tried everthing but they are still there.

The engine is going back into the land rover, or the replacement one is after finding a crack in the engine block. No posts please on how I could have fixed it in situ. cry

l have considered arelditing some studs on the inside of the covers. looking at no bigger than M4 then drilling 4mm holes into the body to push the studs through
the studs will be hidden of course by the besels .and tighting them up will be abit of a faff. then fastening with a washer and either wing nuts or self locking nut? so to get rid of the sealant altogether . like as you say its a nasty job to get right.

Clive i'm paying other people to do the work for me so i can sit and watch crap telly whilst filling my face with christmas food does that count!!
On a separate note are you happy with your harness set up in particular do the shoulder straps sit properly with the seat and cross bar?
I have my bar and carbon seat out the T350 and was going to swap them onto the Sag! But might sell the seat and keep the standard ones if the harness sit ok?

hi Christian, yes they fit fine, I have the Tuscan seats in the sag, and so long as the bar is below the aperature in the seat that the belts run through its fine, I dont use a normal seat belt at all now, I find the harness much more comfortable.

Removing the throttle bodies on a speed 6 to fit a much better set and going to refurb my old set and fit roller bearings before putting them back on. If all goes well ill also fit roller bearings to the newer set and sell them on to cover my costs. Any advice would be welcomed though x

Any spare time will be taken up polishing and making various bits for you my fellow owners!!

If I do get any time free its bonnet off to do some measuring / trial fitting of some new shiny bits.

Cheers all and have a good one!

Thanks! All I got to do was sit there for 6 hours handing over the bits while my 8 yr old built it!

Still...treated myself some grown up lego too wink - just finished fitting it all:
