As a TVR I'm sure the chances are slim, but is there any chance that the radio has a standard ISO plug into the car loom? Or is there some whacky installation, or just it just depend what day the car was built?

I have a new head unit to go into my car (Single DIN Sat Nav!) but not as I don't have the car with me, or know what the original radio is (some sort of CD player with a detached and lost face) so looking for info hoping on can slot the new deck in for the long drive home from the paint shop.

I replaced my stereo the other day and it was definitely ISO standard. New stereo just plugged straight in.

Thank you all, that fills me with confidence! I should be able to slip the new radio (Sat Nav) in for the drive home from the paint shop! smile

It is ISO but its 50/50 if the speaker wires in the doors actually connect to the loom or not!

As shep says it is 50/50 that the front speaker wiring is in place between the head unit and A posts.

As it is a door off job to complete this ,I would check now whilst it is being painted !

My Tamora doesn't have speakers in the doors so guess yours won't unless they changed this at some point.

The wires should be there but front speakers were an option. The factory location was also a bit naff. You can get a custom install in the lower half of the door through the door bin.

Mine does have speakers in the door. Little ones like the picture below. Not sure if this is good or bad positioning?

I imagine the positioning is all to do with available space in the doors to avoid the windows.

My door speakers are much bigger than that.
