Afternoon all. In need of some new rear boots as they are starting to get a bit old (4 years) and are near the tread blocks. I can't get Toyo T1-R anymore and the new Toyo Sport replacement looks nowhere near as sexy. Camskill have Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's on offer at the moment but I won't compromise grip or safety just because they are cheap and/or look good. Equally if they are as good as the more expensive brands I see no reason not to use them. What have people replaced their tyres with recently?

Also I was thinking of giving the spiders a birthday and getting them re-powder coated and possibly changing the colour. I have seen spiders in silver, black, anthrecite & shadow chrome. The car is Chameleon blue what do you think would look good - stick with silver or change to a darker colour? I am bobbins with photoshop so if anybody has any suggestions or is good with photo trickery here is a picy.

Have you had a look at the Toyo R1R? They have superb levels of grip and are more road biased than R888s.

I used to have a chameleon blue Tamora and personally I'd stick with the silver alloys but that's just me. I have anthracite on my cooper green T350 which suit it as its a much darker colour.

Thanks Richard, can't get R1R's any more I believe otherwise they would be 1st voice. I do like the silver alloys as the colour is light and suits the car. I just feel I would have got more for my money if I go for a colour change!

Your car looks absolutely stunning as it isthumbup
Definately think silver suits the car, so would leave the colour as it is.

Really? That's a shame I'll end up having the same problem as you in that case!

I reckon keep them silver as the only cars i've seen that suit darker/shadow chrome wheels have always been dark paintwork, but hopefully a quick photoshop may help either way!

Ditto this. I personally prefer the silver on the Tams period. The darker colours only look good on the 350/Sags.I'll be moving to R1Rs at some point during the next 6 months & moving upto 255 rears.Thats just a personal thing.

Thanks Mr Chips. I quite like the dark anthracite/flat black makes it look a bit more moody. Add some red brake callipers lick

There's nothing wrong with the verde steins from cams kill. You might have pleasant surprise. Had them on the Sagaris now for a while, very good.

Hmmmm..... £104 for the Vendersteins or £122 for the Goodyear Asymetric2 Eagle F1's as they have a £10 fuel voucher per tyre on Camskill at the moment.

One of the South Yorks guys has put Yokohama Neova on his T350, he says they perform really well, plus they do look cool (in a sad tyre type way).

Silver Spyders everytime for your car (imho)

Have had Vred Sessantas on the rear of my T350 for a while. They grip smiles better than the hancocks they replaced but I think the Goodyear Asyms are a grippier tyre, which is what I have on the front as my car doesnt like 225 40 profile front tyres due to tight arch clearance, vreds and some of the other tyres mentioned don't seem to come in a 225/35x18 size. This may not affect yours as I suspect mine is at the tighter end of the tolerance ranges TVR built thier cars with.

Are you sure? I popped over to visit my mechanic on Saturday and he's a T350 in the workshop he'd had shod with R1Rs only the day before.

As for wheel colour I reckon shadow chrome would suit yours - the mock up above looks more gold, the bottom pics on my profile are shadow chrome if it helps...

Give Mat a call - www.matsmithsportscars.co.uk - may be worth asking him where he got his set from. Must say they looked really good on the spiders, made me want to go out and burn out my tyres there and then smile

Tony

That wouldn't help the V10 R8 fund although it would be fun doing it.

Will try to get a picture of the shadow chromes on the Sag, not the same blue i know but it might give the OP an idea of what they would look like.
