Evenin' All,

Have a track day coming up in the Tamora and I need to put the standard back box on instead of the sports exhaust to get through the noise test.

First time I've tried it so if anyone has any tips or tricks would be much appreciated. Do I need to take the rear splitter off or can I work round it?

Thanks in advance,

Sam

Its easier to do without the splitter in place, its also easier with two people - one to hold bits in place the other to work the spanners

Thanks Andy, knew I could rely on Mr Tamora for advice....:0)

Any major pitfalls to avoid.....? Roughly how long should I expect it to take?

Should take less than an hour. Can be a bit of a pig to get the hangers on/off the rubbers but a bit of lube will sort this. Sometimes the bolts on the splitter have seen better days so its worth replacing with new stainless ones. Be careful when you remove the exhaust heat shield from under the front bolts on the exhaust mounts, it will catch on the body and scratch it. Make it the last/first job when re-fitting the splitter.

How loud are you over, would track day cans bring the noise down enough?

Thanks Guys, all done. Took a bit longer than anticipated. The new pipes were very happy where they were and didn't want to come off. Copious amounts of wd40 and lots of wiggling. Back in Stealth Mode again for a few days....;0)

Did the same to my T350 for a Brands GP day a while ago.
When I got there I discovered that the noise testers were far, far, more lenient than I expected. There was a car far louder than mine usually is with sports pipes.

Next time I'll just take the std exhaust with me as insurance
