2005 TVR Sagaris - Just wondered if anyone had the same problem? Been for a spin tonight and the shift lights seemed to be coming on too early, green one at 2000 revs. Trying to find out if is a serious problem, should I be driving it still? Cheers

Just to check the obvious - what are they set at in the menu?

Can,t you adjust the shift lights in the menu, has someone adjusted them /been playing with the settings recently. It will be ok to drive as long as nothing is obviously wrong in the way it drives.

Cheers for the advice, we have just figured how to access the menu and the current settings are:-
High 7,900
Mid 5,800
Low 2,200
This makes sense as green light at around 2000 revs. But should these be the settings or have they somehow got changed do you think?

Owners Manual does not state what settings should be, but the pic on page 15 shows settings as-
High 7000
Mid 6500
Low 6000
Can anyone advise whether these are the factory settings, or just for illustration purposes.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks again.

Not sure Matt, did not look at that, but car was driving fine, although did not go too far as worried might be damaging the engine. Thanks.

Manual settings are ok to adjust your existing settings to.

Also low will default to 4000rpm with less than 40degC oil temp

Thanks G, that makes sense to how it usually drives.

Don't suppose you would have any idea why the settings would change by themselves?

Will be booking in soon for full overhaul as going to sell after Le Mans, so will change settings and see how I get on.

Thanks guys.

must have been a cosmic ray that hit the chip. smile

"You could be going down the autobahn at 200 miles an hour and suddenly discover your anti-lock braking system doesn't work because it had a cosmic ray event," Mr Hannah said.

hehe yep, must have been why my immobiliser spontaneously stopped working last week. Obviously a cosmic ray must have zapped something and shifted the keys by +1 smile

but can you imagine travelling on the autobhan at 200 mph and sudenly discovering your tvr has no abs (as oposed to no brakes at all) shock horror... Lol!

Don't think that's something specialists can really recommend, it's just a personal preference.

gives me plenty of warning and means I don't rag it too hard! It still gets worked through the rev range, as these engines seem happier when being used properly than pootling around.
