Just seen the 'specially selected' sagaris on sale at str8 six. Was wondering what makes it special? I only ask because it used to be mine.

Nothing, it's just marketing bullst so they can [try to] justify their inflated pricing strategy.

Pretty much as above - there'll be nothing about it that's better than any of the good Sags owned by other people, it's just that they've chosen to sell one of the many good ones rather than a poor example.

Chas if you're reading this, you have a typo in the service history - the car has lost 20,000 miles.... hehe

I think most people realise there is an element of waffle when people sell stuff but Str8Six would not sell a dog. Plus it will come with proper nose to tail 12 month warranty and a 12k service. How much is that worth?

Good point and agreed.

I wonder how many Sag's they have declined to sell then given their policy?

What you've said doesn't make the car 'Specially selected', if it were then all their other cars would have to be described the same, which they're not. Or are you saying all their other cars are 'dogs' because they've not been specially selected....

As I've said (as somebody who does marketing for a living) it's just marketing bullst in a bid to justify their inflated pricing strategy. Nothing more, nothing less.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and all that....my view is that Str8six are a class outfit in all regards......not only do they know what they are doing, they are also really good people and really go out of their way to help. "Go Chas go" I say....give us more of your hyperbole...... blabla

How do know it was not 'specially selected'? Perhaps it was. Perhaps at this price point they are a bit more wary of what they buy outright to retail. Maybe don't judge others by your standards. wink

Well as a former owner of that exact car (I sold it to Str8 Six) I know of all the ins and outs of it. I agree with the whole marketing opinion as I encountered Chas when he was at Racing Green and his entire attitude put me off buying a Sag from them.

He tried all the smarmy tricks in the book (there's someone on the phone who wants to but that car NOW!....it stayed on the market for months after...) I just didn't like him and I think it's really unfortunate because I have a lot of respect for what Jason has acheived. I have always wanted another Sag but will never deal with them if it means I have to deal with Chas again.

Well just to add a bit of balance so to speak...I have known Chas both at Racing Green and Str8six.....he's alway's been straightforward with me...yes he is a character and a huge enthusiast........hurrah to that I say.... smile

Well maybe it was just a personality clash, I tend to react quite strongly if I feel someone is trying to manipulate me. I've dealt with a lot of car people as I'm sure have most of us on this forum, I'll tend to stick to the people I have a good relationship with like Scott Walker or the guys at Castle (or whatever they're called now).

Just to make a further point I am not suggesting that anyone should not buy the car, I had very few problems with it and it had a good strong engine. It just wasn't specially selected that's all, I just sold it as a 'normal' sag there's no extra bells and whistles on it and it doesn't sound like much has been done to it since I had it.

It’s just old school Estate Agent type descriptions. A bit cheesy but harmless.

“Specially Selected” – We got it before one of our competitors had a change to get there hands on it

uncontroversial choice of colours – doesn’t look like the interior of a Las Vegas lap dancing club with quilted red and black leather.

Provenance File – plastic folder with a bunch of old receipts covered in oily thumbprints. The folder that shows you exactly how much money you are hiding from the wife.

I would rather have the detail of the car being sold to me as opposed to some of the two line adverts you see. You then call the seller and realise you are talking to an idiot who can’t write more than 2 sentences anyway.

On the few occasions I have had reason to call Str8six they have always been very helpful and straight or Str8. Good company…..

Keep up the cheesy adverts.....I rather like it wink
