Help needed on R888 please!!!

Hi all

I am looking to have all 4 spyders refurbed on Sag and need new tyres too, so I thought it would be good to go for the R888. I only use the car in the summer so not too bothered about them not being an all round tyre.

Can you guys please let me know what size I need on the rear's and the front please. I currently run Nitrons all round. I will be sticking to the spyders for now so looking for tyre specs on the Spyders not any other size alloys.

Finally, have any of you had any dealings with the alloy refurb company called Lepsons based in kent?

Chris i use Blackboots just of the M25 for both supply and fit of 888's they have a state of the art set up jig & good facilities!

Just a wee word to the wise, they do generate a lot of road noise.

Thanks for the link Alex. Christian I have spoken to Blackboots, but I need to call them on Monday for prices but I still have NO idea what spec size tyres to ask for.

John I don't think I am to bothered on the road noise, if you listen to my exhaust you will probably need a new set of ears. Long story, it is curently an ongoing project.

Still need the tyre sizes lads of r888 on 18inch spiders please that anyone has currently got fitted to a SAG.

About to have my spiders sent there for straightening and recolour while car is in for its big service, so if you can wait a couple of weeks I can let you know the results. Get the wheels off yourself and they offer a free collect and delivery service, collecting mine from Norfolk, if that helps.
Also they supply and fit tyres and the prices were better than on line, for Goodyear assume tricks anyway.

Lepsons recommended - excellent job on my 18's finished in what they call "Silver Sparkle".

Ok gang, I have decided that Lepsons will do the alloys, thinking of a dark shade of shadow chrome.

On the tyres I have hit a total blank!!!! No one seems to be able to get R888. There was one company already mentioned on here, very friendly but there prices don't appear to be too competitive.

I have also tried Camskills in Cumbria and their Tel: just rings and rings all day. I have currently got on the car Toyo Proxes T1R 255/35 ZR18 94Y.
No one seems to stock these either. If anyone knows were I can get some R888 size 255/35/18 I will be very happy. Also can I push to 265/35/18 on the rear's. I can confirm that the spyder alloys are 18 by 8.5 on the width front and rear. The only difference is the back set which is clearly visible. Please do correct me if I have this info incorrect.

Look forward to some more help guys if at all possible please.

bought mine from www.oponea.com they dont have R888's at the moment but do have R1R's for only £209 each

there is a back log on the 225 tyres. There are rear ones in 255 available. I use, 225/40/18 on the front and 255/35/18 on the rear. There has been many threads about using bigger tyres on the front though I cannot remember the details.

It is quite a drone, a little like having a whining diff or gearbox. I would take a ride in a car with them on or let me have first refusal at a knock down price if they drive you mad.
