Morning. Having just collected my new t350 and driven her home I thought id check fluids as I seemed to running hotter than I thought was usual. 94/95 at 70.
Looked under hood and saw blue coolant bottle lid on drivers side of engine bay. Checked book for level info. Topped it up accordingly.

Now Iv read more post on here it would seem my car had the expansion tank mod. And iv filled that.
Soooooo..

A. What will happen if I do nothing. Will it just vent thru the blue cap and find its new level.
B if not any ideas how to get it back out....
C is 95 the regular running temp for this or is there a sensor prob

Your temps are about right if running a T350.
Most Tuscans I know of run about 15-20 deg less than the 350s due to a slightly more effiecient cooling system - the 350s is slightly flawed due to the positioning of the rad and the way air is drawn through the engine bay.
If it previously held at around 70 and is now mid 90s I'd suggest a possible airlock, try the beed screw on the rad in case theres any air trapped in there.

Slightly off topic, but I've just had my 2005 T350C fitted with Track V Roads cooling mod. This has 2 main improvements over the original system.
1) a sight glass on the side makes checking coolant level a doodle, no messing about with wooden spoons etc.
2) the system is self bleeding, so no worries about air locks.

I've driven a couple of hundred miles since I had it fitted and coolant temperature is the same as before and coolant level is so much easier to check. Also had all the coolant tanks polished while off the car, looks the business. biggrin

+1 for the Track v Road coolant mod. Had it fitted to my T350. Makes life with the TVR that slight bit easier.

Any pickys of the mod Mr Chips I'd be interested in that. What sort of cost? Is it a straight swap or do they mod your existing ?

Cheers

Hi Buzz,
Will try and take some pics over the week-end and post ASAP. If you already have the blue topped expansion tank mod it costs £250, if you have not, then it costs £350. AFAIK, they modify your existing tank, although I'm sure if you give Craig a ring at TvR he will be able to answer all you questions. HTH. smile
