Now, I had a conversation with Paul Smith on this a while back as we are going to be doing a new dash project with Brendan. From memory it is the dash ECU, but it was about a month or so ago, so I might be wrong.
alex, would be great if you could confirm that when you canmuch appreciated
Thinking about it logically, surely the engine ECU just feeds a rpm signal to the Dash ECU , which then uses it to drive the tacho (both analogue and digital) and also switches the shift lights on at the preset values?
Therefore, ( and remember this is only me thinking how it might work) there should be only be a single wire from the Engine ECU to dash ECU for the RPM????

There is a tach signal. But also a couple of unidentified wires , but so far seem to not be needed for my project.
I suspect the dash ecu controls the shift light, but it could have been the engine ecu...
I see what you mean re: the wiring, just looked in the Sag manual and there does seem to be a tacho and a shift lamp wiring indication.I suspect the dash ecu controls the shift light, but it could have been the engine ecu...
