I'm sure this has probably been asked before, so can anyone tell me what's the largest disc that will fit behind standard 18in Spiders?

I'd been considering 330x30s with separate bells, but 343s or 350s have been suggested instead (maybe with different AP callipers).

I was wondering this after I managed to get the fronts smoking at a recent charity event...

Have the dreaded Hip spec 360mm disks with monster 6 pot calipers on my 350, it run's 19's Power 5 spokes in road trim normally but have a set of spiders that do fit but run close to the 18" rim. These discs do need soft pads to get maximum benefit, but are they better than standard Ap's on smaller disks? The jury is out for me as pedal feel is not as good as the standard setup.

Hmm. I'm guessing that's more to do with the callipers than disc size, right? I'd be very reluctant these days to deviate from APs (although the HiSpec stuff on my Cosworth 15 years ago seemed okay back then).

I've the one-piece 330's with spacer and using Ferodo 2500's with 18 inch Sp12's for Sprinting/Hill climbs.

Far more feel and modulation that ever before, esp with 1B's (Kumhos) - you need a full harness when stopping 8-))

HTHs?

Sounds like the sort of thing I'm after. Where did you source the bells and spacers?

I've been chatting to a supplier who reckons CP6600 callipers will work with 343s or 350s. Or maybe I should try six-pots. But your experience sounds ideal.

Clever Trevor for the discs and RG for the spacers.

Yes, standard calipers will take upto 330mm, so why use 322?
You will need a 4mm spacer and maybe longer bolts, i can supply these too.

Put me on the list for a pair, please. I'd like to try them before splashing out on six-pots etc.

What would those discs need to fit standard callipers?

AFAIK, nothing - the caliper fits upto 330mm x 28mm discs, fitted with 325mm x 28mm standard I think.

Put decent pads in also and you wont need them.

Is this to move the caliper out 4mm on the radius from the centre of the hub ??

Wouldn't it be different on Sags vs T350 as iirc they have bigger fronts anyway
