I need to look at ways of repairing a small hole under the nose of the Sag. Lack of clearance has scrapped the fiberglass under the rad down to a wafer.

Does anyone have any photos of inside the nose when the rad is out?

A good friend recommends placing an aluminium sheet on the top side of the fibreglass to create a back plate (which looks easy to do when the fins are removed) then filling the hole in. There is also a crack which runs for abt 6 inches under the number plate where the nose starts to wrap under the car.

So in general, has anyone any tips or things to avoid?

Hi , there is decent access inside the nose panel if you remove the splitters . I would key it and glass it from the inside and just fill the outside . There is a join in the factory mould running horizontally below the number plate which is prone to opening up if the front is grounded . If you make the underneath too strong then the body will start to crack in the next weekest ares which will probably be more visible . David

Here is a picture of the hole and the split. The plan is to just add filler on the outside..it's quite difficult to do anything from the inside as there is the charcoal canister under the A/C rad

Is a first class flight with 6 star accommodation acceptable and as the damage is worse than first thought I allow 3 weeks for the repair.. :-)

In all seriousness appreciate your earlier help..

Just a note of caution with the scuff plates. You still need to be very careful with grounding. If you hit the scuff plates a very solid wack, the damage they can cause to the front will be a hell of a lot worse than without them. They will add a rigidity that will cause the front nose to crack a lot more.

One reason I went for a lifter kit,

Would have to agree with Alex on this one, while the grounding sounds bad without the protective plate it seems to flex and wear out slowly but with the plate it cracks very easily.
