Steering rack t350 info please

Help please before a sledge hammer comes out please , can someone confirm please if the steering rack can be replaced with the pinion casing in place , the rack is currently in the car with everything disconnected, and removed oil water tanks

I removed the pinion drive to replace the seals, I re assembled the pinion on the bench and then refitted to the rack, I seemed to have tried every position possible, and cannot get into the correct position,
