Hi forum land
Would anybody have an idea if this MINT 2004 'Red Rose' edition T350t could be the lowest mileage example in the UK or indeed the World?
Currently, this one owner from new model is showing 2,400 miles with a fully stamped and correctly documented history with all old MOT's, piles of receipts etc - its all there!!
Its being sold by Racing Green so Im sure its provenance is not questionable but surely its got to be blummin rare??

Answers on the back of a postcard gratefully received....

Could well be but have you seen the price RG are asking all because it's barely been used? Get a mint (still low mileage at 10-20k) car for 25k and spend the difference on a 4.3 rebuild from Power. Then you'll have a minter with a stonking engine that you won't feel afraid to drive for fear of adding miles/devaluing.

Thanks Zippee
Understand what your suggesting and your upgraded car sounds fantastic and very interesting to read what you've documented - its GOLD to us newbies so many thanks - as a straight investment though for a factory standard and now rare car what do you think?

Now says sold on the advert...........8-/

The £28K with a 4.3 rebuild seemed better value?

...and if its only done 2,400 miles in nearly 8 years, then...

  • the engine would be 2004 or earlier - err... avoid that
  • engine would not have had a great deal of use so not had any potential nasties ironed out
  • engine would not have been run a lot in the last 8 years, so unless it has been stored correctly...
  • ...and so on and so forth...
Long periods of sitting around with no usage is not a sign of a good car unless it has been stored properly.

Remember the 900 mile Cerbera SP6.... Engine went in the first few months.... very Low miles = Big bills (well it can be, especially if you start to use it regularly that is)

is this a for sale advert? Seems weird if it is already for sale

Thanks for your thoughts. I've put a deposit on the car as an investment but with the view of using it for a few thousand miles a year and keeping it. The history is very concise with low mileage each year and full annual servicing regardless of mileage. It has been dry stored and comes with a 1yr/6000 mile full warranty. I know it's pricey but it must be the best currently in the UK with a post 2003 engine and 'red rose' spec.
Appreciating future classic?

Sure. Just be aware if you want to use it, you may need to keep money aside for a rebuild.

Nice car, but I still think you're mad paying that sort of money just because it's not been used. Enjoy it but I really don't think you'll get your money back on it and just make sure you catch any non-use related issues ASAP before they turn into bigger problems.

With my occasional trips into the this forum to satisfy my lust for these cars (and keep up with what niggles i might one day need to look out for) i would say that you should plan to do 5000 miles in the next 12 months. smile

Welcolm and good luck with it mate - clearly mint at that price and mileage. Just get a few miles in this year to use the warranty in case of issues. Nice car!

£36,995. Worth winding my clock back given it's so simple! wink

Good to see such a superb example has a glove box lid that doesnt fit and would ensure I get the roof panel bags thrown in with the deal at that price! Essential in keeping the lovely panels shiny on my old T top

Definitely, definitely drive it a good few thousand miles in the next 6 months - you need to find out as many faults as you can whilst it still has that warranty on it.

Not the most pleasant of comments; the car is "worth" whatever a particular buyer is willing to pay for it.

Classic comment from a car salesman :P (just messing)

In all seriousness, hope you have years of enjoyment from the car. I am sure you went into it eyes wide open, understand that premium price, does not mean it won't have issues. Alex and Tony both have some good points, the car is pricey, but then again, maybe reflective of what a unique (only 60 or so left) 180MPH sports car should be, plus the red rosé element smile Hopefully the profits can go towards paying Pascal back too :P

I really hope you do have some fun in it and haven't bought it purely as an investment. Classic cars are seen as a safe bet for price increases, but where have we heard that before. In trying to protect it's 'provenance', there isn't much room for fun, as it's driven for a service each year, like the last owner. I'm very much of the view, you buy a TVR to drive a TVR. Noone knows what will happen tomorrow, you only live once!

That is just Tony's view, how often do you tell someone light heartedly that they are mad for doing something? it's a phrase not Tony having a go at the buyer. Lighten up it's a discussion forum.
Tony might think the buyer is mad, the buyer might think Tony is mad for installing a 4.3 into his T350 we are entitled to our views.
Actually Tony is mad but that's a different discussion tongue out
