Induction mods for sp6.
Discussion
Sometime ago i tried the porsche thing. a c4 996. (911 water cooled for the non porscheys)
it sounded pretty good and all was well.
Then one day i had a cold air induction kit fitted, a k and n affair with an oiled cone, heat shield and dry charger sock that protected it from weather ingress... and the sound was epic... i mean off the scale m3 csl material.
Im now in a t350 high revving red rose 3.6. a car that sounds pretty good, but i just cant believe that there is no induction tuning available for these. ACT make a lovely carbon air box but Tim confirms no induction noise change.
Anyone know of any other mods out there ?

I do get some induction noise from the ACT stuff, but.... The noise of the exhaust does drown it out! My engine does pass a lot of air through it (ACT airbox, exhaust and FFF), so it does get through more air than a lot out there.
I guess the S6 just isn't designed for induction noise? Or to put it another way, the CSL (et al) just don't have loud enough exhausts?

Hang on there slim. In your profile there is a t350 with just that. What have you got going on there ? Pm meif its easier....
It's a NACA duct with a cold air feed directly in to the airbox. Originally, it was carbon fibre, but when I had the nose painted, I had it coated and painted.I have been trying to track when it was fitted and it seems to go right back to the first owner. There is some suggestion that the factory may have been involved but I don't have any evidence on that one yet.
Couple of better pictures on this thread:

Do I assume youve tried this alex ?
No doubt with some kind of milled ali dash mounted switch to isolate each feed ?

It's being fitted now. Liquore carbon fibre colour coded, with long intake for more torque, blue silicon hoses with embossed TVR logo.No doubt with some kind of milled ali dash mounted switch to isolate each feed ?

Should look very nice.
I'm not familiar with the difference on induction noise for the T350. However in this youtube video when the car is on full throttle it does have a lovely distinct rasp which is different from others I've seen which are decat. Is this due to induction enhancements?

You have to be patient with the video. They faff around for the first 40 seconds before finally starting the car up. But at about 1min 15secs, that raspy noise on full throttle is just awesome.
