had racing reds fitted to my T350 ...(2008) not had much trouble , usual rear diffuser hitting on bumps.

but now its seems worse , and rear tyres scuffing arches..

what are people now fitting , (racing reds now not being made)

I,am going to have Gaz Monotubes fitted to my T350 on Friday as they have been highly recommended by Taylor TVR, at the moment it has Gaz Golds fitted and I just don,t like them, I have Nitrons on my Cerb and they are really good but Gaz Monotubes are a bit cheaper and are supposed to be as good, if you want to wait for a week or 2 I will let you know what I think

Check your ride height. It may just need raising a tad? It's the two locking ring thingies you move with the g shaped spanner thingy that came with the shocks

Before replacing the shocks, have they been setup correctly, is your car at the correct ride height? It's worth looking at this first and your geo, before you go out and spend hundreds on new shocks and springs. Get someone to look at them, they might just need a refurb, this will be cheaper and you may have effective shocks after. The point about the rear diffuser hitting the bumps is probably related to a low ride height and not enough bump. This shouldn't happen if its setup correctly, surely?

Agree the shocks and springs are probably knackered and need the shocks need a refurb, but look at costs of newer shocks and cost of refurb

Sounds like your ride height needs setting - spring do settle especially after a number of years 8-((

Racing Reds are made by Nitron and rebuildable - best call them; you may be surprised: +44 (0)1993 849449

Hopefully, they will do an initial setup, then drive the car, following this the real setup begins and a drive again to fine tune it. If they don't drive the car (many won't which is bizarre) raise an eyebrow as the setup is unlikely to be correct. Ride height is key and when correct coupled with a good geo, B roads should be without incident. Let us know how it goes smile

I had a MK1 Tuscan for a while and had the Nitrons refurbed by Taylor TVR and he did exactly that set the car up and took it for a test drive before he gave it back to me

He knows what I,am looking for and what type of driving I do, plus he has a T350 of his own so knows the cars really well

I will let you know what I think of the monotubes, I also have a Griff with AST shocks on and the car was set up by racing green and it really handles very well so I should be a fair judge of the Monotubes
