Is there a Tamora buying guide somewhere, or a list of things to look out for / budget for?

Cheers,

Rich

Not that I'm aware of, as for things to budget/look out for, I think every owner on here will have their own list.

In 2.5 years of ownership I've had a new clutch at 26k, the diff re-built at 31k, other than that the money
I've spent has been on upgrades/modifications; annual services have come in at between £400 and a £800

Look at the top of the page...

Anything in particular you are thinking of or just general?

Thanks. I did look at post at top of page but this refers to T350. Wasn't sure how much of this was relevant?

I have a Chimaera so I am aware that the marque has foibles, just thinking of picking up another and wondered what sort of thig to look out for.

In Chimaera-land it would be engine rebuilds, outriggers, upgraded brakes, etc. Clearly this applies to TVRs but I wondered whether there were particular weak points to the Tamora that I should look out for or budget to fix?

Thank you,

Rich

to a great extent the mechanicals and electrics of the tam and t350 are identical.

obvious issues as as always are the condition of the engine, shocks, brakes and gearbox

i have seen a couple of tams and t350 underneath, some chassis were fine, some badly corroded needing of welding repairs. just have to have a really good look, and dont assume a shiny paintjob means a good engine/chassis is underneath

Weak points as other TVR's which you be aware of having a Chim + as with all T cars, the speed six engine but this is also the heart and soul of the car when it's on song. If the engine goes your looking at about £8k to sort. Other jobs are pretty much on a par with your chim except servicing will be a bit more, typically about £750 for a 6k service and £1k for the £12k (valve clearances).

I've had a chim, a Cerb, a griff 500 and now a tamora and despite somes woes I love it, they are great cars.
