RedSpike66, so as to avoid hijacking the thread on water bottles I've posted pictures of my wing cutouts by PDQ below. Not particularly good photos but most are in focus !

Nice styling smile How does it mitigate the stones going through and onto your windscreen? Is it blocked off with mesh? I've seen a few like that including 'the man that mods' sag :P

The wheel arches are still fully closed, the black mouldings each have a small hole in them which connects to a pipe which then drains the water.
So this is purely cosmetic.

The meshed ones that are vented into the wheel arch don't have this issue either.... just an FYI. They are also vented out of the back, which feels a lot better at speed... That could be imagined, but I swear I could feel a difference!

Air pressure release? Although not sure you can really notice it at normal speeds.

It felt better on track through fast corners than I remember... But memory can be a very funny thing!

Not driven it that fast must admit.

I'm happy to push the Evora through hell and back down country lanes as I know it can take it and loves it (had loads of "fun" doing that around the unused back lanes where I live)

Don't trust the Sag to be that... flexible... biggrin

Alex if you feel that way about why make it go quicker?

Why climb Everest? hehe

As for the chassis and power delivery - I can only agree. The F Type I had on test made the Sag feel very last century...

Don lets be honest the Sag is very last century, basic design of TVR chassis has barely changed for years. That is why if you don't feel it works very well surely you put your money into the suspension components, set up, brakes and driver training. Putting a bigger engine in the samr car is only going to exaggerate the short comings of the original design.
Understand the why climb everest its a challenge but Alex's comments suggests he thinks the Sag as it was was a challenge already so why make it quicker.

Appreciate we all do things because we either want to or just because we can but just not following the logic on this one.confused

It's a question of degrees - even my engine doesn't knacker the car, or it's ability (and having been in Pauls nutcase car, and lived to tell the tale...)

It's more about the accessibility of the power, the ride comfort (etc). The Jag has great electronics keeping everything in check - on a track it would be an interesting comparison, but on the road, a hard driven F type would lose the Sagaris, IMHO.

As for the Everest question - to bastardise/destroy the quote - we modify because we can. Because we want to. Because we enjoy it. smile

Don I understand the modify bit but when an owner states he doesn't doesn't trust the Sag to be that flexible I would have thought that the modifications should be in making it more useable not just upping the engine. Not my money and not my car so not my worry, just my thoughts.
Know what you mean about current sports cars and their abilities, wonder how much Jag spent on the development of the F type alone, whatever the figure i bet if a tenth of it had been spent on the last TVRs they would have been much more capable of holding their own on a tricky road. All IMHO of course.

I think with the engines we can get to a point we are happy with faster than before! On track it's a different matter though...

There's no doubting cars have really come a long way in the last 10-15 years - let's see what the new TVR does!

Fight, fight.

In simple truth, I got the Sag because I loved the look of her, not because I love the technology, comfort or drive-ability. Let's be frank, TVR was very much behind the times in all of those in 2006 and even more so now.

But I still love her all the same.

I drive her because she is a driving occasion, not because she is a wonderfully tuned sports car. She's also something of a project car for me, so I like to tinker.

Reina and I have enough wonderfully tuned sports cars already between us to drive.

Enough said.

Whos looking to fight !!! said I didn't understand, a simple explanation would do!!!
If you only drive the Sag because it is an occassion then why upgrade the engine etc it will still only be an occassion.
Your car and your money Alex just trying to understand the logic behind the process you are going through.

I wasn't taking the hump, Kev, just looked like a lively discussion between you and Don tongue out

But seriously, main reason I do things to the Sag is because she is my main project car, so I like to tinker.

Part of the fun of ownership for me.
