I thought after have my car just over a week I better check the oil level, I wasn't that worried as I have good oil pressure and oil temp.

I've tried checking it and after burning myself on the filler cap it appears it below the min level, so I'm going to top it up , my question is should I fill it to max or half way to stop over filling it, and should I put the oil in that hole?
Also there seems to be another tank mounted on the wing with oil marked on the screw top and a level pipe on the side, what's that for?

Check it hot within 30 secs of turning the engine off, it helps to have two people for this. Get yourself a pair of work gloves (the thin type so you can still use your hands) The oil goes in the same hole as the dip stick, I add mine using a measuring cylinder to stop it spilling all over the engine. The other tank will be the expansion tank for the rad I guess as the only other tank you add fluid to under the bonnet is the power steering that has the black lid on it.

So what's the tank on the side for then?

Nope this tank is mounted on the drivers side inner wing and has a pipe going into the oil tank in front of the engine.

So you have an oil expansion tank where I have an expansion tank for my cooling (water). Interesting...

That's non standard, now I can see why you were confused about how to check the oil.

In the earlier engines the oil is the same as the ShiDevil's but the water is the same as yours (eg no extra expansion tank).

I assume you still have the dip stick on the main tank? I'd check that and fill there (remember to do it seconds after stopping the engine).

I do have the dip stick in the tank, but looking at the unit I'm wondering is the clean pipe on the side gives any indication on how full the car is with oil or if I should fill it though the tank ( it's much easier to get to!!!)

No, this is only to control the oil level of catch tank.
You have to fill up and control oil level with dip stick on normal oil tank

If the car was serviced by Tvr Power, they only use 10\40 SEMI SYMTHIC CASTROL MAGNATEC, just check with the last service company as its not wise to mix Fully with Semi.
