Hello,

Just trying to locate the source of the problem and have done some investigating, so far...

The passenger side fan does not come on, this is the fan which would normally kick in at 98c.

Fuses for both fans seem fine and no sign of damp on the relay pins, also used a 9v battery with some spaded wires which turns both fans at reasonable revs (not at full speed obviously) so that would indicate the fan itself is working fine.

Does anyone else have suggestions as I'm not sure where to look next!

Thanks

Graham

Please forgive me if I'm barking up the wrong tree, but my Impreza second fan only came on when the air con was engaged.

Not like that on these,

However they are both now working??? scratchchin it must have just been a dry connection in the plug, contact sprayed them when I put them back in.

Ah well, waste of a post!! :-)

In the event this helps you or others, if it's not a relay or fuse issue, or to start off with, check for corrosion on the spade connectors on the fan plugs. A bit of acetone and a nail file works wonders in treating this. Just ask Doris's permission first!

Strangely (or not) its the first place Chim owners look when faced with a single non-working fan. The connectors below the fan corrode. You would have hoped that TVR might have moved on between 1992 and 2005.....

to check to make sure they are both working the future just pull the water temp sensor plug off from the engine whilst the engine is running and both fans should come on. If only one of them comes on you know their is a connection issue at the fan end or the fan it self.
