Just had the windscreen smashed / cracked by flying debris on the road. Big impact mark and cracks extending out all over the screen.

I'm with CCI (Competition car insurance) and Aviva and they go straight through to autoglass. I've spoken to them and they don't fill me with confidence, they said the computer was calling this an £8000, yes eight thousand pound! repair.

And they tell me they are looking at a week to get a windscreen which as this is my daily driver isn't good.

So a few questions,

Are autoglass to be trusted with a T350?
Can I insist that a specialist does the job?
Anyone recommended in the northwest / cheshire?
Any pitfalls I should / the fitter should be aware of?

Did a great job on my cerb but the fitter was used to doing TVRs and had done many cerberas.

I was quoted about £1,150 for an Autoglass windscreen with £75 excess, but I paid an extra £25 to use a company of my choice, like has been said it's more down to the fitter than the company.

This company is based in Sheffield so possibly a bit further than you want to travel

Had my t350 front screen replaced last month by autoglass and they did a great job, no problems at all, they take pictures before hand and point out any faults, marks already there, I told them to be careful about the dash leather being stuck to the screen ect, had the car back same day.

£750 max, through Bespoke Performance. Just ring up TVR places near you. Mannings said £75 excess for Auto Glass and £100 excess for a TVR place, no quibbles smile

Second best laugh I have had all day. £400 for a screen (multipart) + £75 for new seals + £150 to remove/replace. Where the juddering fk do some companies come up with their pricing? £8000 is just a joke but even a grand is on the steep side

I second asking Glassman - has van, may be willing to travel. He comes well recommended. Cost of a phone call will get you an answer

NWTony - Tell your insurance company a windscreen is TVR part number U2379 and retails at £379.99 plus VAT, plus delivery. Then tell them it's a couple of hour work fitting at somebody like X-Works near Preston and they charge £45 per hour plus VAT.

Did mine through Bespoke, Glasstec and Mannings. Not expensive.
