Finally: a hunt is coming to an end

Dear Piston- and TVR-heads,

I have been a relatively quiet forum member so far, only commenting occasionally.
The time has come, when after 5 years of hunting I am finally getting to up my toy of choice in Devon this Sunday.

She's a lovely T350t, well cared for, as far as I know. I've been extremely pleased with the buying experience so far and I can't wait for this Sunday to be picking her up.

I know how rare these ladies are and I'll be cherishing her!
It has been the car of one of the PH members, who has kept somewhat quiet over the years. Maybe he'll recognise the car when I'll be posting some pictures and get involved.

Oh and do go ahead and ask any questions you like. I'll be happy to reply as it gets me to know the car better

well first ya gotta post a pic of her, i loved my t350t. Use her like u stole it( after a warm up of course)they love to be used and abused .What colour is it?

Undortunately, yes, I'll be taking her out of the country.
However, since I'm in the UK like 5 times in a year at least, it's not a final farewell

I'm somewhat in touch with a guy that owns around 4 TVRs and we thought about creating a club over here, with yearly excursions to Blackpool or so. So that'll put some expat TVRs on British roads again for a week or so

If you are ever passing through Kent on your excursions drop me a line and we could arrange a meet up with the Kent TVRCC, At least you will look after her if you have been looking for a few years enjoy, I have worked out which one you have bought and it looks lovely

Indeed the car looks absolutely lovely. Had a prepurchase inspection done by Rob and apart from one or two liiiiittle niggles everything seems very ok wih the car

Wow and 3 TVRs! Superb How do you manage to pick the right one to take for a spin? I'd be standing there thinking until the sun sets and go to bed again

Over here running three TVRs is next to impossible. Insurance premiums are ridiculously high for these cars (calculated on engine size and sale price of the build year). You seem to get pretty good deals on insurance for TVR in Britain

Yes I have all 3 TVR,s on a classic insurance and at my age really cheap, It is easy at the moment to decide what one to drive as I have had the Cerbera 14 years so at the moment she is taking a back seat as I have had the Griff a year now and the T350 only a couple of months, when its sunny the Griff will come out and if it is cloudy the T350 but I can see it being a problem next year as I like both for very different reasons

Sorry for lack of updated so far. The handover went very smooth - great experience and the car performed very well on its maiden voyage with me I'm stuck with a lot of work for now but I'll be posting pics as soon as I get round to it.

Hi again everybody.

I got new tyres put on and while the car was up I took some pictures of the chassis.

Now, if please some of you could have a look at the pictures and tell me what you think about the condition ?
I am a (little) bit worried about the rusted bolts and especially about the rusted diff.
Otherwise the chassis is dirty but free from corrosion, I believe.

It does look quite rusty but it only looks like surface rust, if I was you I would get it cleaned up and treated before it gets any worse, I have seen worse, my Griff was really bad when I got it but I knew what it was like and that reflected in the price I paid for it, I actually had the out riggers replaced as they was rusted right through. do a search on here for chassis refurbishment and that will come up with loads of information. I would not worry too much but get it doen A.S.A.P

Lovely colour and underneath, well i've seen worse Give it a clean from underneath with a degreaser and get a polisher on it and i'm sure it will be looking good in no time. You can repaint the areas that are needed, as much is easy to access I'm not a massive fan of the waxoil gunk they put on, but then again, mines in a garage and cleaned regularly and won't be on the roads at winter. If there is a nice sunny day, I will be rinsing her down after with filtered water. I wouldn't worry about the diff, 99% of them are a rusty hue and it won't affect how it works

There is another benefit to cleaning in that, you can inspect any repairs that are required, as from time to time, components do need replacing as I am sure you can appreciate.

And thank you for your honest and calming words.
I will have the car checked over the winter. I'll try and replace/do as much as I can by myself - it's part of TVR ownership, right?

Phew, I'm a bit calmer about the diff. I appeared as a horrible brown mass when I saw it first time and it scared me, lol.

Weather is crappy over here - so no drives unfortunately. And, I need to get my garage ramp rebulit because the slope is just too steep to get the car in and out without requiring 5 neighbours waving and shouting to direct me

Registration and MOT is due on 24th October - let's hope all is well with the car.
