What glue/sealant to stick rubber to cloth/fibreglass?

I took the roof off the Tam today and realised that some of the rubber seal is loose and needs gluing back in place.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the ideal glue/sealant to use for this job?

Sikaflex 221 should do the trick. Just wear gloves as it's bu**er to get off.

Most of the time you can just squeeze the U of the seal together and push it back on. It has wire in it so it will hold and grip better. Using a glue on the roof hoop and door seal will make it a bugger to replace.

Ah, OK, so it wasn't glued in the first place? Will have another look later.

Mine aren't glued.

If you pull it it stretches (necks) the flat bit, then you can pop it back into the channel. Let go and it will shrink in length and spread out into the space.

I have forgotten the knack on how to get the targa panel in the boot - was going to go for a drive topless yesterday, but for the life of me, I couldn't get that panel to slide in! (that's when I noticed the loose rubber seal)

Left hand corner in as far as it goes then pivot and slide leftwards.

I though it would be like riding a bike?

So did I - I went through all the motions I used to without really thinking, but still couldn't get it in. I think it may have something to do with the boot not opening wide enough

Sorted - a simple case of putting the rubber back into the metal channel. I also managed to get the targa top into the boot - the boot doesn't quite open enough to fit it in comfortably - I had to force the boot wider for the right side of the top to drop down.

Memories.... I remember borrowing those wheels from SP - it seems that now, every kit car has that same style - but only TVR has the Spiders.

Aye. Unscrew the rod. Add in 3 M8 washers (possibly M6) and screw it back together.

Allows the boot to open just enough more to let you put the roof in.
