Re-trim, what colour/combo colours for light blue Tam?
Discussion
I am not very imaginative - but I don't like the sea of blue in my Tam so much, and will have it re-trimmed with new carpets and leather interior and seats at some point.
As you can see, it's a very blue car..

I was thinking just go with black/dark grey with perhaps blue stitching, but is that a little boring? What else could I have done to make it look a nice place to sit in, but not too OTT - a colour combo perhaps?
Also, because we plan to drive down to Italy next year, I was thinking about ordering one of these fold out mohair roofs:
http://www.cambria-cirrus.com/
In black, but this would look silly with the blue cloth of the rear roof section (and if I had one in blue, the contrast between the older and new sections would stand out too much, I would think) Is there anywhere that can produce a new rear section and window, so I could have the roof all in black?
Cheers

I went Navy with portland piping for the carpets & full hide Navy/portland with contrast stitching for the interior

That does look very nice - yours isn't the one at the bottom of these pictures, is it?Edited by shep1001 on Friday 25th October 11:25

The car has had a very recent full respray, so it would be silly to change that. But in the future, I do like the reds and may change the colour, so I would need to keep the interior pretty neutral, which is why I thought black or flint grey..

Yes, Adrian & his team did a refurb for me earlier this yearhttp://www.centraltvr.com/product/tamora-re-trim/

Whilst I wouldn't suggest such a strong blue, this is what a black, carbon and blue interior looks like. Or rather did look like, I think Dave the Trimmer might be getting a call next year!

I definitely prefer the carpet colour (carbon)?, and I prefer the centre tunnel being a darker colour as it gets more wear. Perhaps a 2-tone grey with light stitching would look OK, or, if I keep the exterior colour, light blue for the inner seats and door inserts....Hi Chris
This was the thread I was thinking about...

Would love it to be sticky, but don't know how...
Cheers!

Cheers, Alex.
Am happy to read your thoughts, despite the subjective nature.
Perhaps we ought to have a sticky for the interior options, as we do with exterior?
Have a look at Jason's blue Sag with the tan interior. I think those colours work quite well.Am happy to read your thoughts, despite the subjective nature.

I have been considering tan for my Sag, but that's one for another time.
Other colours might be...
- Dark blue and grey combination (dark blue lower/grey upper)
Hi Chris
Will be interested to see the replies as I'm thinking the same when finances permit. My Tamora is also light metallic blue and in my opinion the interior lets it down.
As I have new black carpets I'm thinking of...
- All black with maybe a coloured stitching
- Black and grey
- Black and tan (base ball glove / Ferrari type tan)
...and with either of them try and introduce some subtle carbon?
Good luck with yours.

That tan does look nice. So many options to consider! I guess I want a subtle but high quality feel to the cabin, something that will last at least a decade if looked after (I remember the bolster showing signs of scuffs on my then 2 year old Tam, hate to think what it looks like now..).I have been considering tan for my Sag, but that's one for another time.

I notice the body colour and Portland grey work very well with darker coloured cars, but not so sure on the Paris Blue. I always liked the original interior of my first Tam:

I always thought the carpets were black, but they look flint grey or similar.
Something like that, but better.

Yes, the blue everywhere is a bit much, isn't it!
My first thoughts were black/dark grey with coloured stitching, or a two-tone grey leather should look very subtle, I think.
I think the only bit of carbon I'll have is that lovely airbox from ACT! (Cripes, am sure I have about £20k's worth of upgrades I want to do...)

Dunno about that folding roof idea, looks like there is some pointy metal where my head occasially interfaces the roof on a wavy road...
For me I prefer dark colors, some mix of dark grey alcantara and black with blue stitching or something like that.
griffgray's purple stitching on an alcantara feast in this inspirational thread is my all time favourite:
