heated seat switch

my tam is getting heated seats pads fitted to the seats by dave the trimmer...

wondering where to mount the switches. theyre not bad, but dont really want them "in my face" so to speak. theyre about 20mm diameter and approx 25mm deep

looking for ideas...so far

remove ashtray and put them on a plate there (ok but cant see them at all but itll be obvoius enough if theyre on
on the steering wheel surround cowling (have to be above left knee for space....

thats about where i run out of ideas. I cant see them fitting anywhere in the seat themselves.

wondered if anyone else had solved this or come up with alternates.

That is where Dave fitted mine. Works fine but they seem a little different to yours - only two settings. A toggle switch down for very hot and up for even hotter.

Transmission console is usually the best place.

You could do it one on either side or to the left side of the gear lever, one above the other.

Or put them in the seat base

Good idea Paul I think I'll go for butt heaters in the Tamora. Catch 22 really. I was out in the Tam on Sunday with a few mates hitting the Tarmac around Lincolnshire and the east coast. With the roof down Air temp was around 5*c and sunny. The heater was a waste of time as the engine temp was 78*c which is typical; the car is usually like a green house in the Sahara desert during the summer so a heated seat would have been ideal .

i like the roof off even when its really cold, and tend to drive with the windows open anyway ....heated seats are really rather nice then. and it is a relatively cheap modification...£80 for the pads and about an hour of dave's time to fit them in the seats.

Agreed on that I really enjoyed the blast.Normally I have stuck the Tam away for the winter by now. I haven't done any early winter open top driving since taking the Westfield V8 out in 2009 I came back like a frozen chicken! No side screens, roof or heating!
