When I sold my first Tam, I was so depressed at the time (as in not thinking straight), that I sold all the extras with it.

Time to put this right.

I now have my sports exhaust, and a new Road Angel Gem (although to be honest, I think I preferred the original to the latest)

I stupidly left my Pioneer Avic-X1 in the car, too. I did look at another, or if it's been upgraded since, but they are all now double din affairs, and an original Avic-X1 is still over £1200 on EBay, for the 2006 version!

So, I am thinking about this package:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/avh-x7500bt-single-din...

Which is £70 cheaper than the package I almost went for:

http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/product_info.php?pr...

Along with this:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/nd-bc1-reversing-camer...

Which, I am assured works with the above package (I want this one because it's what I had before, and know exactly how to mount it)

I won't go with DAB this time, as I remember wasting money on that before, and had little to no reception - although I wonder if the new windscreen aerials are better these days?

So, that's noise and in-car entertainment sorted, next - re-trim, Nitrons and the icing on the cake, a 4.3 upgrade, but not all at once.....

DAB is far better now. I have it on my company car and the quality is brilliant it rarely looses signal a part from in certain areas of Jockland and Wales. Fortunately I don't have to go to Wales very often, phew! Altho' wouldn't u be able to use DaB thro' your smart phone?

I don't have a smartphone... I work from home, so never really had much need for one (just a 4 year old Samsung PAYG, topped up with a tenner about twice a year). I do need the sat nav, though. I may think again regarding the DAB, but the best option for me is a USB port where I can use a memory stick for the music....

Chris
You already have the best music option its called a T350 with a sports exhaust.

Buy a Tom Tom for the sat nav and use the money saved on something else.

A Tamora with a sports exhaust... smile

We have a Tom Tom, but I hate all the wires trailing up and down the dash. I already have the Road Angel and car cam, until I have these hard wired, it already looks a mess. The stereo (are they still called this?) in the car now is an upgrade, but it's purely for iPods/phones, which I don't have or want (doesn't even play CD's!) - so it's no good to me anyway. Also, I plan to take the car to Italy a few times, which is 12 hours driving from Calais to Turin, plus the 3-4 hour from the border of wales to Dover/Folkestone, so alternative aural entertainment may come in handy. I know the exhaust isn't too bad at all when cruising in 5th.

Finally, I found the reversing camera great, especially when parking in tight spots, and a screen is needed for this. I plan to have the car completely re-trimmed early next year, along with new hood material and rear screen, I though adding the units at this time would be perfect while the trim is off.

Hi Chris

Was a very tongue in cheek comment, sorry forgot yours is a Tam not a T350 so like the Sag its nearly the best music option with a sports exhaust.

I guess if I'm honest, and because I'm a man, the extra gadgets and buttons are cool.... hehe

You can have too many buttons, the Vantage is a nightmare trying to find something you don't use very often when driving along lots of little buttons.
Perhaps I should use it more then it probably wouldn't be a problem.

I can understand the sat nav and reversing camera, sound system would be pretty much wasted on me though.

The music is secondary TBH. It's just that, when I want to (try to) hear some tunes, I prefer using my USB stick (or should it be called a 'Mix USB', like the mix-tapes of old..)

The car already has a decent speaker upgrade, it seems, with speakers in the doors, too, which is something my first Tamora didn't have.

I don't know what they are, TBH, but they certainly sound quite 'punchy'. I'll check tomorrow.

Just realised my old car had a Tuscan S CR gear box too - may have to wait a bit for that. But I do remember the fun doing 0-60 in 1st...driving
