Tamy's lovely but a huge step in performance over the Beast and the Black Box.

Been procrastinating about raising funds to get an intermediate car to learn how to drive (had been coverting a black S3C in the classifieds).

Anyway, raised about a third the money by outing some spares out of the 'shed' and thoughts have moved to possible alternatives. Needs to be rwd, about 170 bhp/ton and no driver aides. Oh and cheap, a few grand max.

So what springs to peoples minds?

I'll be keeping Tamy.

Take your Tam to Milbrook and get some practice with someone like Cat driver training and save your money. Two cars are always a hassle.

Colin is very good. Have been there twice now in my Tamora but have yet to get past lunchtime without car issues.

Does nothing to build my confidence regarding reliability!

Thanks for the link to advanced tuition. I've got a day at Blyton Park on the 28th (next week) and Oulton Park on the 28th of Feb. The Beast will be undertaking track duties.

Still got an itch for an S3C though.

100% reliable for spirited blasts and big road trips over 2 years.

But when I have started pushing the performance envelope in terms of speed and braking (other handling is fine), things have not been quite right... And that isn't through lack of spending on it.

I've only had Yamy for three weeks and really only driven her twice - simply due to other comitments - and I'm still in that phase where every [odd] noise is the engine imploding. Wasn't any issues with the last owner (6-years I think) I just need to get some confidence.

I'm going tolook at some driver training in the New Year - even if I get a practice car (I found another S3C!).

S3C was my introduction to TVR's. My wife hated it (with a passion!) but I absolutely loved it. Brilliant little thing and a great way to get used to rear wheel drive.

Still have a hankering for one now!

Not helping. Although the car I've found is probably an S3 not an S3C.

Needs to be cost neutral so I think I'll get the funds in place first.
