On the assumption you are trying to fit a Tamora roof into a Tamora boot... It will go!

It can be a bit of a fiddle though so maybe check in the owners manual to make sure you have it the right way up, etc

It goes in with the front edge facing down. Put it in on an angle.

Thanks for the tips, I have followed the instructions in the hand book so think I've got the roof in the correct position. I'll try again in the morning.

You can make the boot lid open wider by taking the gas strut end off at the top (popping off the ball and socket), and then unscrew the end socket piece a couple of times. The underside of my boot lid is scratched to buggery because the previous owner didn't do this...

Come on Simon I've shown you once, put it in a bin liner and it will slide in at any angle (nearly)

When I got the Tam I followed the directions in the handbook and it was difficult. But I found that if I put the top in a plastic bag it just slips in.......so to speak.

Yep - do this. But I added a rubber washer each end of the gas strut and tightened it back up. Makes a good few degrees of extra angle for the boot lid, making the whole roof in boot debacle much easier.

I remade the boot lid gas strut bracket and offset the ball centre by 8mm, this allows the boot to open about 40 mm more. It makes a huge difference.

Always good to meet new owners, but for Gods sake don't rely on me for technical help, seriously don't smile

Any info you'll ever need you'll get here

Enjoy the Alps

Not sure if my memory's fading, but mine is in with front end facing up.
