I bought the 4 litre car that has been for sale near Sheffield. Not the colour I would have preferred, but it drives well, on Nitrons etc...
It needs lots of little things tidying up, so it will keep me busy......

For me, a big part of the fun with these cars is fettling them to make them your own.
There are now quite a few cars out there that are so well looked after by way of decent upgrades, love, care and attention, they are better than brand new - and with just over 200 left of the roads, quite unique, too.
While driving home in it last night, the dash lights weren't working, but the LCD was lit, so it was ok. Today I've set the dash, and the lights work, but when I go from side to heads, the dash light go off. The only way to get them back on, is to switch the car off, and restart. If it go from off, direct to heads, they seem ok. Weird.

Go into the settings using the buttons on the back of the steering wheel and change the setting for the dash lights. Follow the instructions in the book if in doubt. mine were exactly the same when I got my car. Easy fix

I think that's the self destruct connector. When it's unplugged you have 24 hours to reconnect it or the car vaporises....Or I might be wrong and it's actually one of the many connectors you will find on the car that has no use. Mark it up with a little tag so you know in future you have seen it before and can ignore it.
That particular connector is for the knock control on cylinders 456 if you have a ferret about in the same area there is another one for cylinders 123

Connector for a non-existing knock sensor. The wiring of the later cars was prepared to handle one, but never made it into produktion. If you follow zhe lead, you should finde the yellow warapping labelled "knock sensor".JRH63 said:

Has your car had an upgrade to HID headlights? If so this is a common problem, if you turn your headlights on then restart and the dash lights stay on I'd say this is exactly what has happened.HID is an upgrade to standard lamps for some people but does cause this issue.

It had an HID upgrade a few years ago.
Thanks for the info.
