Hi all,

I do not have the sagaris with me at the moment and nor do I have the GV bible. How long does it take to remove the two wing mirror casings on a Sagaris?

Any help appreciated. (if you can change the title to Mirror that would be good as well - thanks)

Paul......

5 mins
Lock over mirror heads to the side
You will see a countersunk Allen key bolts (4mm ) in the base bit
2 on each mirror
Remove both
Pull mirror up with loom
Have some sticky tape ready
Pull loom connector through hole , carefully
Tape door loom block connector to top of door, don't let it fall back in or panel off .
Tilt mirror glass to side and pull off.. 4 tabs
Go to fridge and find beer x

Hello,

Now got the next problem of splitting the wing mirror now it is off the car. Can any one help me with this - I have just posted in the general section also.

Hi All,

I posted on the Sagaris, Tamora, 350 section to help me remove the mirrors but now i have them off the car there are more TVR cars with this scenario.

I need to get both parts of the mirror apart and I feel I need to compress a large spring and then turn - is this correct?

Any help appreciated

Paul......

Hi Paul,

it's easy: Remove the wires (you can disconnect them at the motor-unit). Than use a bolt with a nut on it. The Bolt should fit into the hole (don't remember if M6 or M8). Now screw the nut down, it will push down the spring with the locking unit enough to remove it with a small turn.

Hi Olli,

I have it in front of my and I am not sure how that will work. I can not see how I can get the bolt through due to the extension bit of the mirror (the bit that makes the unit higher) being in the way.

Going to have to have a go later - might be clearer when I have it apart.

.................As I write this I think I know what you mean, the bolt goes through the hole the cables were in!

I will give it a go later.

Yes, you're right, the bolt goes in were the cables are at the moment....

This is my method, I used several times. Maybe there's something more easy, but the spring has a very high rate....

All done, managed to do it with out the nut and bolt in the end. You have to cut the cables that go to the door opener so you can remove it. Then as Ollie said pull out the pins from the back of the mirror motor, the cables then all pull through.

I (we one of the lads that works for me) levered the spring open using the central metal bit to leverage against and then it turned.

Pic of it all apart below.

Thanks again

Paul......
