I'm just about to mould some speaker recesses into the doors.

I've got some door panels with tvr speaker recess to take a mould from

the original speakers fitted are alpine spe1302, but measuring the OD on the front face, the od is something like 160mm. this fits the recess nicely

other manufacturers 13cm speakers are a lot less diameter it seems...

before i trawl the speaker specs, has anyone fitted a replacement that has similar dimensions?

Was a direct fit.

I've been looking for replacement speakers for the doors on my Tam recently. Mine still have the factory fit items, which are pretty crappy to say the least! Have these Pioneers made a difference to the sound in your Tamora?

Yes. I made a call to the TVR trimmer using Bluetooth (had to phone 30 mins before I arrived..), and I could hear him with a clarity that was totally absent from the old speakers. (I had to stop in order to hear what the other person was saying - not anymore..)

I did want Alpine speakers, same as the rears, but wasn't sure about the dimensions, so I went with the best 10cm I could find that I knew would fit. I can also hear my music much better now, too - but I am having the powered sub fitted with my re-trim, which should then take the bass pressure off the 4 main speakers.

Thanks Chris, I think I'll order some up too! Good luck with the retrim, it'll be good to see some pictures when you're done!

Will stereo be ready in time for Burghley House? I'll be interested to hear the sound.

borrowed a set of door cards off a friend, these will accept a 160mm max diameter speaker, so I'm going to take a mould off these and mould a similar sized recess into mine. (his car is heading for trim too fortunately)

that way i can get a 13cm speaker fitted (which has a max od of approx 15.5), so I've opted to get the next sized pioneers up from the 10cm ones as i already have the 17 cm version in the rear.

I've considered adding also tweeters in the door panels, but not sure if i will appreciate them sufficiently with the open roof motoring i do?
