Hi all
Looking to install a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System on the Tamora . I think Alex uses one but just looking for general feed back of the systems people are using...who accurate, fitted and display via the media system or separate screen, cost etc
I'm looking about something like this:

Personally I think too gimmicky. If your doing the miles, on track etc maybe. I've gone down the Nitrogen route personally
Here's another option for you: http://www.morethanpolish.com/tyrepal-car-tyre-pre...
I think this is better, simpler and is sold by a UK firm so no after sale issues The company is 5 miles from where I live

Hi Steve
thanks for for the the link but I need something to work through the media system in the car...as a former Pirelli Manager I know the benefits of correct tyre inflation and defo not a gimmick!
Are you at Burghley House tomorrow?... hope so I want to see your car in the flesh!

Would be good to know if anyone has actually installed this particular setup. It's attractive because of no requirement for another screen/display on the dash. I have a Pioneer AVIC X1 DVD/GPS. From what I can see on the listing, this unit probably emulates the rear view camera function on the X1. So I'm presuming when you press the TPMS button the X1 is fooled into thinking the rear cam is active. The other option would be to buy fit the Gendan electrodipping rear mirror with the inbuilt reversing camera display. Then you could get the TPMS display up in a portion of the rear view mirror. Quite neat really. I already fitted one of the other Gendan mirrors with compass and temp, similar to Alex_Gray, so for me it would be the X1 display route. So just need to know if the quality of the unit and sensors is any good. CLooking to install a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System on the Tamora . Received the TPMS system. Bought the same one mentioned above off Amazon as it was shipped from UK not China, so got it in two days. Am putting it under the centre tunnel trim next to where the underdash unit for the AVIC sat nav lives. Wiring is straight forward. Found a couple of unused power leads from the original loom tucked behind the alarm unit, with what look like Molex 4 pin connectors on. They have ground, +12V permanent and +12V Acc wires. You only need the ground and ACC cables.
The system does indeed break into the rear view cam circuit. The activation button is wireless which is useful as it can be tucked away out of sight. Hope to get it hooked up at the weekend. C

The TPMS system is all in and got the sensors fitted to my new SP12s on Saturday. First thought was that the readings were all over the place, 23, 24, 26, 28psi for the four wheels - disappointing since the tyre company put 24psi all round in them. Or did they....?
So I checked with two gauges I have at home, and they were indeed at 23, 24, 26 and 28psi! Corrected them and all show within 0.5psi of the two gauges I have. Noticed driving down to Goodwood that the tyre pressured crept up from 24 to 26-27 as the tyres got hot, (good reason to try a nitrogen fill at some time to see the difference).
Overall, the system is really good, you can request a readout on the DVD player at any time by pressing the remote activation button. If I had a gripe, it would be that the graphics could probably be a bit higher resolution, - but for what it is and the price I think its a great bit of kit. Always sceptical buying Chinese electronics off the web, but this time it's good.
BTW - selling a set of Spiders from by T350 on ebay if anyone is interested.
