Hi all

Do any of you have 100% accurate facts, figures on the following questions please:

How many F1 Jaguar Racing Green Sags left the factory?

Were they all painted in the factory or did any get painted at Racing Green?

Did Racing Green have anything to do with the colour spec, creating the colour or supplying the factory with the colour?

I am not referring to cars going back to garages for front end resprays etc. I am referring to when they ere brand new and available to buy new. I am aware that there is mine No:119 and No. 163 registered on the Sagaris Register and remember seeing pictures of one that was crashed badly a few years back and that is about it.

If any one has any information on the above it means a lot to me. Please feel free to email me direct if you wish. or reply as normal.

Thanking you all in advance.

Chris

I couldn't answer your question, but I have taken some pics of your Sagaris (W333...) at Racing Green back in 2008!!!

If you're referring to the Jaguar F1 Green I don't think any came from the factory and they've all been done subsequently.

S&D have painted one maybe two in that colour, I saw one as a WIP and it looked awesome.

Might be worth speaking to S&D as iirc in their early days they did paint for Racing Green (I could be wrong) but I seem to recall unpainted cars being kept in the old factory buildings for quite a while.

ETA Well I was obviously wrong about there not being any factory cars. getmecoat

S&D apparently painted one car that was already F1 and that was the one I saw. I'm still thinking I saw a T350 there as well.

I thought there was 3 that left the factory in your colour because we nearly had one. One was the demo car which is yours I think, one was a normal customers car and one was used for a hire car company. I just remember asking this when we were looking for a sag because we didnt want to end up with the one from the hire company which is why I tried to find out. I know thats not great info for you but it may help in your search.

This is my understanding as well (i.e. there were three from the factory), I also believe a Tuscan has subsequently been resprayed in this colour.

I believe the idea was Racing Greens and all three cars were supplied by them.

When I ordered my 1st T350C back in 2005 , same time the Sag was being built, the dealer mentioned I had the choice of Jag F1 green if I wanted, it was priced the same as the reflex colour options , a 2k premium if I recall right. This would lead me to believe that as a factory order option it would have been painted at the factory paintshops and seems strange that they would ship cars to RG to be painted when they could handle the reflex colours in house..
As a slight aside I picked colour Cooper Green Mica which I still thinks looks good on a T350.

This picture was taken in March 2012 at TrackvRoad. A Tuscan MKII in that colour. It really looks stunning in the flesh.

Tuscan looks stunning but the boot spoiler on the wedge is a bit extreme...

Just a quick thanks for all the replies so far lads.

I am also aware that there was a total of three cars, I remember seeing images of one badly crashed a few years ago, can't seem to find these images anymore. Is this the one that belonged to the hire company???

As far as the Tuscan is concerned, the owner of a Tuscan came over to me at Chatsworth a year ago and pointed out to his Tuscan which he had painted in F1 Green, but I think it was a MK1 Tuscan, I also re-call S&D spraying a T350C a few years ago in this same colour.

Please feel free to add more comments on the third Sag if any of you have any further info.

Cheers

Just noticed you're in exactly the same offices my company used to be in when we first started up in the early 1990s...

Heh, small world.
