Hello people,
On Wednesday evening my car failed in a pub car park. Had to leave it overnight as I didn't have the breakdown number handy! Yesterday, after much agro, the fault was traced to a knackered battery! But I now have another problem! The break in current seems to have stopped the key fob car alarm working & all the dashboard data has become very dim & difficult to read. Also....a system failure code of 146 has flashed up!
Can anybody advise me on where I could take the car today to have these small niggles sorted? I'm near junction 6 of the M25 & happy to drive an hour or so to get it fixed. Cheers

Code 146 is F-RAM fault, drive the car for a long run so battery has a chance to sort itself out, maybe consider replacing battery.
The dim lights could just be the settings in the instrument cluster menu have reset themselves, did you try setting them back up?

Just spoke to a really helpful guy at SussexTvr. Apparently the fault is a power overload. His advice was to enjoy the car while the weather is good & then when it goes in for a service get the fault rectified. Fair enough. Cars performance isn't affected it's just difficult to read vital signs in bright sunlight.
Brand new battery was fitted yesterday so I'm hoping for some uninterrupted smiling today!

If you can remove the dash ECU yourself (its in the drivers footwell next to the accelerator) Paul Smith is the man to send it to to get it repaired. The dash lights dimmed on mine when I changed the battery, it was simple enough to re-set - just co into the settings in the clock pack and adjust the brightness & contrast + the led brightness setting for off/side/dipped lights.
