Hi all,

I don't know if it's just me but my Tamora has a rather long accelerator pedal Tavel to full throttle. I've not had chance to look at it but I've had a look in Varley bible but that just gives basic info. Any of you good people had the same concern and had it rectified....etc

Any help would be good...

Thanks

Hi buzz

It's a TVR 'traction control' thing...not sure how you would/ could change it?

Does it bother you that much?

It's been doing my heading since I've had the car....I'll have word with Ian at TvR when it goes in for it's 1st engine service at the end of the month and see if there's any way I can mod it to make 'the' feel better' got to say the 4.3 is feeling better and better as it loosens up...I still had my concerns about the power of the engine but after a straight drag with a 62 plate 911 turbo S on Saturday on a dual carriage way and him not passing me I'm very happy with it...

I'll watch this with interest - there are adjustable linkages with clutch & brake, but the throttle pedal and it's linkage seem fixed and hidden away in that foot well from hell!!

Just seems incongruous that we have short-throw clutch & brake and a foot-long accelerator!! It's not that it's heavy as a Chim (or my old Chim),, there must be an alternative set-up? The 4.3 deserves it shout

When I test drove the Tuscan I bought from a well known independent in the Midlands for the first time I commented it didn't feel as powerful as I expected. He said that when he was a main dealer salesman and they all went to drive the Tuscan for the first time they all said the same and the factory guys responded "did you actually floor it ?". When they all went back out they discovered the missing and very important hp's. Seems we must have an inate belief of where we expect the throttle travel to stop even when we're not at the physical barrier. I agree it seems out of keeping with the other controls, maybe TVR were trying to limit the engine life problems on the early S6's !

I've now got used to it but for you perhaps someone can come up with a fly-by-wire installation....

IMHO the 4.3 doesn't 'feel' that fast or powerful. It's only when you come up against something you know to be truly quick that you get an idea just how wrong you are. A 997 Turbo S is one of the quickest cars on the road so for that not to be able to pass you puts into context I think how good the 4.3 is smile

I wonder if the turbo S driver was just toying with you, I would be very surprised if you could outrun a Turbo s.
If it does beat a turbo s, that is one hell of a power unit...

There's always one :

Fact. Turbo s. 560 Bhp weight 1730 with av weight driver. Power to weight 343 Bhp

Tamora 422bhp rolling road proved. Weight with me 1149kg power to weight 380 Bhp

I've been racing in various championships for more years than I care to remember ... The guy was going for it backed up by his exhaust note. I never said I out run it ...he couldn't out drag me nor me him.... And that's why you never have any sumo 100m world champions wink

Any way back to the relevant point... I'll have a proper look at the throttle as I'll be giving the car a full C check with full body off.... The throttle is the only thing that's spoiling the car at the mo.
