Where can I get some rear boot struts for my car? They have both gone (another story as to why furious and the scum that deny all responsibility) and I need to replace as I currently have nothing to hold the boot open.
Are they a standard part available from strut shops (or whoever sells them) everywhere or are they TVR specific?

SGS can supply for most TVR models.

Place in Northampton does them, nice stainless shiny ones too. I will dig out their website. They have a trade counter too so you can rock up and collect them. IIRC about £40/each

Thanks both. The Northampton place sounds good, especially if they are all nice and shiny smile
SGS seem to show every model but the 350/Sag, I'll give them a call later but I do like the sound of the stainless.
Any idea what strength I need (Believe it's in Nm?) as I want to ensure they are strong enough to hold what is a very heavy piece of glass!

Alternatively, you might look at those used on kitchen units. Dependable and on eBay for less than £2 a pop!

Metrol Springs Limited, 75 Tenter Road, Moulton Park, Northampton, NN3 6AX, United Kingdom

Take it with you or read the code off the side of the old strut it has things like the load rating on it

I have the lightweight perspex rear screen with the cross braces on
It's not heavy at all but I look a fool with it on my head when I load the boot.
There is no strut on the car at all.
Anyone fitted one with this set up ?

I've been in touch with Camloc who make the originals and they've stated they are bespoke items. However, they can make me a pair for £25 each plus £7.30 carriage and VAT so £69 all in.
I think I'll go down this route so as to ensure a proper fit smile
Thanks for your help.

If I remember correct, Dom from TVR Power has them in stainless steel. Couldn't find them on his web page, maybe it's worth a call ?

Nope, they are the same, as it says in the description - POA for the stainless ones which are also listed though:

Ahh OK...it's always better to read the text and not only looking at the picture ;-)
