I'm pretty sure that the rear adjusters on my Tamora are seized, and I need to get the geo set up again.

I want to do my best to release said adjusters with some trusty Plus Gas - but don't know where they are! I've been told that it is likely just the rear ones, so that is what I am interested in. Apparently camber and toe, and possibly thrust angle.

I DO have Graham's Bible but the pictures are all a bit small - and showing a clean assembly! My car is not really clean frown

I'm guessing that as I don't have a 2 post lift, pit or ramps I will need to jack the car up and remove the wheels to gain access.

ANy suggestions gratefully received!

The rear toe adjuster is in the lower wishbone where it attaches to the front bush. I hear they need a lot of heat and force to undo if seized (wishbone off the car etc).

I'm guessing that anybody half competent in working with suspension will be able to drill them out, but it's A bloody nuisance. I was hoping to be able to sort it myself.

Probably depends on how much time effort you want to spend on sorting, it may be possible to cut the threaded adjuster out from the inside with the bush stud removed (wishbone off car?) but it could be a slow laborious process and care would be needed not to cut the wishbone eye.

That's a large step too far for me as I am a nightmare with doing anything half complicated or risky! Looks like I'll need to find someone trustworthy to do it for me.

My TVR guy does full geo set up using the latest equipment, and simply charges a bit extra if he (as usual) has to free off the rear toe adjusters before starting. Sometimes he has to pop the rear wishbones off, sometimes he doesn't, but he has the know how and all the right tools. Friend of mine even drove all the way from Surrey to West Norfolk for such a geo and was very pleased with the results.

My suggestion is, rather than get the car into undrivable pieces at home and break something, just book it in with the guy you select to do your full geo. that's what I did.

As I am sure you already know, they handle so much better properly set up.

They do indeed handle much better with proper set up QBee. Mine seems to have come adrift since Cadwell (sorry that I didn't actually meet up with you) and it is very noticeable.

The people that have been recommended to me to do the full geo (who use the Hunter DSP kit which I know is considered the best) don't do the releasing of seized adjusters - or at least they didn't, so it is worth a call I guess. I would rather a one-stop shop.

I won't attempt anything other than PlusGas and an large wrench myself, but as that seems unlikely to do the job I will need to find someone to do it for me if the geo guys won't.

Yep they do sieze up and I got Gaz to make me 100 new ones, I also bought a new tap to clean the threads out on the wishbones.
If anybody in the South wants it done, I gave the tap to Tony at Wheels in Motion at Chesham who have a Hunter machine and the adjusters are £4.00 each plus post and package

I had a long conversation with Tony, who gave me some useful advice. As I am on the South Coast I don't really consider Chesham 'south' smile but I might have to bite the bullet and drive up north to him!

I can find a pretty good geo place, but not somewhere really willing and able to deal with the releasing of the seized parts.
